Chelsea hope Romelu Lukaku will be bought by AS Roma or another club.

Romelu Lukaku joins AS Roma on loan

According to The Telegraph , Chelsea have reached an agreement for striker Romelu Lukaku to join AS Roma on loan until June 2024.

The fee the Giallorossi will pay to loan the Belgian striker is £5m, lower than the £8m Chelsea wanted. However, the Blues will not have to pay Lukaku's salary while he plays for Roma.

This means Lukaku will have to accept a pay cut. At Olimpico, the 30-year-old striker will only receive £6.4 million/year, much lower than the £16.9 million/year at Stamford Bridge.

He will also have to take a pay cut if he is not bought by Roma and must return to Chelsea next summer.

In addition, Chelsea have inserted a £37 million release clause into Romelu Lukaku's loan deal, hoping the 30-year-old striker will play well and be recruited by AS Roma or another club.

The Blues are keen to sell Lukaku this summer, but the Belgian striker has rejected moves to Al-Hilal and Juventus.

At Roma, Lukaku will reunite with coach Jose Mourinho. The two worked together at Chelsea (2013) and Man United (2017-2018), but did not achieve good results. The striker only spent two months at Chelsea under the Portuguese coach, before being loaned to Everton.

In 2017, Man Utd spent 75 million pounds to recruit Lukaku. Coach Mourinho is currently in the hot seat at Old Trafford.

However, the 30-year-old striker has had a disappointing performance with only 33 goals in 73 matches under the “Special One”. Coach Mourinho was fired at the end of 2018, and Lukaku only stayed until August 2019.

The Belgium international has boarded a private flight back to Italy. Lukaku will be in Rome today to finalise his loan move to AS Roma from Chelsea.

Chelsea strengthen midfield

The 2023 summer transfer window is only a few days away, but Chelsea is still busy shopping. In the latest development, The Blues unexpectedly targeted Arsenal's Smith Rowe to strengthen the midfield.

Coach Pochettino has many fast midfielders, so he needs a technical and skillful player like Smith Rowe to make the game smoother and more balanced.

At the moment, Smith Rowe is considered redundant for Arsenal. The English midfielder was on the bench for all three opening Premier League matches and has not played a single minute. In the most recent match, Arsenal struggled and were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham. Coach Arteta made all five substitutions but it was still not Smith Rowe's turn.

Injuries kept Smith Rowe from playing much for Arsenal last season. His chances of playing this season have been further hampered by Arteta signing Kai Havertz, who can play as a number 10 or in many other attacking positions.

Smith Rowe has little playing time, so Chelsea are likely to succeed in this deal, although they only have 3 days left to negotiate. Smith Rowe's contract with Arsenal has 3 years left and is valued at around 35 million Euros by Transfermarkt .

In addition to Smith Rowe, Chelsea also want to add a striker because of Nkunku's injury. The West London team is considering two players, Ferran Torres and Raphinha.

However, both of these targets are not easy for The Blues because Torres is reviving and wants to stay at Barca to compete for a starting position. Meanwhile, Blaugrana are almost certain not to let go of Raphinha because they have lost Ousmane Dembele on this wing.

Real Madrid situation - Kylian Mbappe

Marca reported that after Vinicius' injury in the away match against Celta Vigo last Friday night, Real Madrid received many offers to sign a new striker to replace him, but President Florentino Perez decided to reject all of them.

Sources say that Vinicius' injury is more serious than expected and he will be out for about 6 weeks. However, Real Madrid's summer transfer plans have been "locked down" as head coach Carlo Ancelotti announced.

The veteran tactician will have to rely heavily on new signing Jude Bellingham to provide goals in Vinicius' absence, while Joselu is also expected to help Real Madrid in difficult times.

Real Madrid's plan is to go all out to sign Kylian Mbappe in 2024.

The French striker's situation at PSG remains a "mystery", amid reports that Mbappe is in talks to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

Mbappe is in Paris but it is not known how he and PSG will agree on the next options: activate the extension until 2025 so PSG does not lose him for free or sign a longer contract.

Real Madrid missed out on Mbappe in a shock move last summer, so it remains to be seen whether they are truly destined to be together.

Matheus Nunes determined to go to Man City

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese midfielder will not change his decision to move to Man City this summer. Matheus Nunes has signed a preliminary contract with The Citizens.

Currently, Man City and Wolves are negotiating to soon close this deal worth about 60 million Euros.

Al-Ittihad club wants Joe Gomez

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that the Saudi Arabian team has Joe Gomez on their recruitment list. However, Liverpool will not sell the English defender because they do not want to lose one of their important players in the final days of the transfer window.

Folarin Balogun arrives in Monaco today

The American international will arrive in Monaco today to finalise a five-year deal with AS Monaco. Arsenal have agreed to sell Folarin Balogun to the Ligue 1 side for a fee of €45 million.

Al-Arabi Club is about to sign Marco Verratti

The Saudi Arabian club are very close to buying the Italian international from PSG. Currently, the parties involved are negotiating the final details before announcing the contract.
