Postponing the time to adjust gasoline prices due to Tet holiday

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, because the gasoline price adjustment period next Thursday coincides with the second day of Tet (January 30), it will be postponed to Saturday, February 1.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities, key petroleum traders, and petroleum distributors regarding changes in operating hours. Gasoline prices.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Decree 80/2023 stipulates that the time for managing gasoline prices is implemented every Thursday. In case the price management time coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday, it will be implemented in two ways.

If Thursday falls on the last day of the lunar year (29th or 30th of Lunar New Year), the petrol price adjustment will be made on the preceding Wednesday. In case Thursday falls on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd day of Lunar New Year, the petrol price adjustment will be made on the 4th day of Lunar New Year.

The next petrol price adjustment will be carried out on Saturday, February 1.

According to current regulations, the next adjustment period will be on Thursday, January 30, which coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday (ie the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year). Therefore, the upcoming adjustment of gasoline prices will be carried out on Saturday, February 1.

Currently, gasoline prices are traded according to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance on January 23. Accordingly, the retail price of RON 95 decreased by 78 VND/liter, down to 21,142 VND/liter. The retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 158 VND/liter, down to 20,592 VND/liter.

Diesel prices increased by VND412/liter to VND20,194/liter. Kerosene retail prices increased by VND404/liter to VND20,110/liter. Fuel oil prices increased by VND571/kg to VND17,752/kg.
