On the morning of May 22 in Hanoi, officers and employees of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department held an incense offering ceremony at the Bac Son Martyrs' Monument and a ceremony to report their achievements to Uncle Ho, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the traditional day (May 27, 2014 - May 27, 2024).
On behalf of the staff of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, Colonel Pham Manh Thang - Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department - reported to President Ho Chi Minh on the outstanding achievements during 10 years of participating in United Nations peacekeeping activities.
Over the past 10 years, the Vietnam People's Army has sent more than 800 officers and professional soldiers to deploy individually and as units. Of these, 5 squads of the Level 2 Field Hospital were deployed to the South Sudan Mission, 2 squads of the Engineering Team were deployed to the Abyei area, and 114 officers were deployed individually.
100% of Vietnam's forces have strong political will, are absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people, always exemplary in overcoming difficulties to successfully and excellently complete all assigned tasks, and are respected and loved by United Nations leaders, mission commanders, international colleagues and local people.
Many officers and staff were evaluated by the United Nations as having completed their tasks excellently and were awarded the Medal for the Cause of United Nations Peacekeeping along with many certificates of merit, commendations and letters of commendation.
In the coming time, to continue promoting the results achieved over the past 10 years, Colonel Pham Manh Thang affirmed that the officers, employees and soldiers of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department will make every effort and be determined to build a Party organization that excellently completes its tasks, a strong and comprehensive unit that is exemplary and typical, and to build the personality of a revolutionary soldier.
"The Vietnamese Blue Beret force vows to always be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the army, and the path that Uncle Ho chose. They are worthy messengers of peace in carrying out activities of great political and humanitarian significance for the international community," he said.
