Brigade 162, Naval Region 4 enthusiastically responded to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025

At the unit's reading cultural spaces such as: Library, Ho Chi Minh Room, club on the ship, reading hut in the spiritual park..., Brigade 162 introduces and displays more than 1,000 books about the revolutionary career of the Party and Uncle Ho; books with the theme of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975 - April 29, 2025), the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955 - May 7, 2025); the 71st anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025); Books and handbooks compiled to learn about the sea and islands of the Fatherland, the history and glorious traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, Naval Region 4 and units; books, newspapers, magazines on literature, art, military science and technology...

Along with that, the brigade continues to replicate the online group reading model for officers and professional soldiers, each group has from 10 to 100 members, organizing and sharing videos introducing books and articles for members to follow. For non-commissioned officers and soldiers, the brigade directs the subordinate fleets and warships to assign officers in charge of maintaining reading time and discussing the content of the favorite book they have just chosen to read after each session. Along with rotating books between existing reading cultural spaces, the brigade encourages officers and soldiers to donate books to build more diverse bookcases.

Activities in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 were carried out by the unit from April 16 to May 1. Thereby, widely propagating to officers and soldiers a deep awareness of the purpose, meaning and importance of reading; actively participating in building and developing the reading movement to contribute to building a good and healthy cultural environment in the army; considering books as a companion in the process of self-study and research to improve oneself, striving to be worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" in the new era.
