From the beginning of 2024 until now, every morning from Monday to Friday, in a small, tidy space located in the Department of Nephrology and Endocrinology, Children's Hospital 1 (HCMC), the image of a blackboard and white chalk appears.
This is the space of the happy classroom. The students of this special class are sick children being treated at the hospital, and the teachers are social workers.
In addition, there is also support from volunteers who are students of some universities in the area.
The fun class was born from a practical need, to help children avoid knowledge gaps when having to stay in the hospital for a long time. In the class, it is not difficult to see images of child patients attentively reading each letter and drawing while still having an IV needle in their hand.
The fun class not only provides cultural knowledge but also helps children have more joy and motivation during their treatment at the hospital.
