TPO - The construction projects of Ba Hom Bridge, Tan Ky Tan Quy Bridge, Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, Ten Lua and Hoang Hoa Tham road expansion, etc. will be completed by the end of this year, contributing to reducing traffic congestion, completing the traffic network, and enhancing connectivity for gateway areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
In late June, at the construction sites of projects to enhance traffic connectivity and reduce congestion in the Tan Son Nhat airport area, the working atmosphere is extremely busy and urgent to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.
According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works in Ho Chi Minh City (Traffic Board, investor), the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project (connecting Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport) is more than 50% complete.
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (Tan Binh district) is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Besides the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, the project to expand Hoang Hoa Tham street (from the gate of the military barracks adjacent to the airport to Cong Hoa street) with an investment capital of nearly 300 billion VND is also preparing the ground for construction. After completion, this approximately 800m road section will be expanded from 8-10m to 22m.
According to the HCMC Department of Transport, after expansion, this route will connect Cong Hoa Street with Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa Street to make it most convenient for vehicles to enter and exit Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat Airport. Currently, the investor aims to complete the expansion of this road section by the end of this year.
After more than 5 years of being "suspended", on June 21, the construction project of Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge (Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City) at the Northwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City was restarted.
It is expected that after completion on December 31, 2024, Tan Ky Tan Quy Bridge, together with Tan Ky Tan Quy Road, which is being upgraded and expanded (expected to be completed in October 2024), will form a traffic axis connecting National Highway 1A to the city center and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
In addition, Ten Lua Street (from Road 29 to Provincial Road 10, Binh Tan District) is under construction and expansion.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that the Ten Lua Street expansion project has reached about 50% of its volume, expected to be completed 3 months earlier than planned.
Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department said: "Along with Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge, the completion and putting into operation of a series of projects to serve the city's people by the end of this year including: expanding Tan Ky Tan Quy street, expanding Hoang Hoa Tham street, building a road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan street - Cong Hoa street, expanding Ten Lua street, building a new Ba Hom bridge... will contribute to reducing traffic congestion, completing the traffic network, and enhancing traffic connectivity in the area".
