Revealing 16 excellent ideas in the final round of "Green Voice" season 2

(Dan Tri) - At the end of the competition round of the "Green Voice" debate contest organized by the Green Future Fund - Vingroup Corporation, the 16 best teams will advance to the ranking round, held at VinUni University on January 18-19.

Accordingly, 16 teams entering the final round come from 10 provinces and cities including Hanoi (8 contestants), Phu Yen (6 contestants), Nghe An (3 contestants), An Giang (2 contestants), Dong Nai (2 contestants), Hai Phong (2 contestants), Quang Binh (2 contestants), Ho Chi Minh City (3 contestants), Tra Vinh (2 contestants) and Hung Yen (1 contestant).

Ms. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Green Future Fund, delivered the opening speech at the competition round at Vinschool Times City (Hanoi).

The contestants competed with diverse topics, spread across various fields, including Green Consumption (4 teams), Green Mobility (2 teams), Green Urban (2 teams), Green Lifestyle (2 teams), Green Tourism (1 team), Green Education (1 team), Green Energy (2 teams), Green Office (1 team), Green Healthcare (1 team). These are all key action programs of the Green Future Fund.

In the final round, 16 competing ideas will reflect diverse perspectives on solutions to environmental problems.

Candidates in the Southern region's competition round enthusiastically interacted at the Vinschool Central Park exam site (HCMC).

With the idea of ​​"Food for Fuel", Nguyen Do Thao Anh and Phuong Hanh Thuy Duong (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) of The Incredibles HFR team hope to reduce food waste and emissions in Hanoi with the CPD (collection - treatment - distribution) system and turn organic waste into biogas. Focusing on collection, CPD will place trash bins along Hanoi's garbage collection routes, each with its own AI sensor chamber to verify organicity.

The Incredibles HFR team took the opportunity to have a quick chat before entering the debate match with the opposing team.

Meanwhile, the Verdant Sun team, consisting of Dao Phuong Anh (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) and Nguyen Viet Nhat Minh (High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) proposed the idea of ​​"Extracting SiO2 from rice husk ash" to convert straw into pure SiO2, helping to reduce dependence on mining resources and reduce environmental impacts in semiconductor production. The team hopes to bring benefits to farmers and the semiconductor industry, while providing a low-cost renewable source of SiO2, thereby promoting a circular economy, contributing to positioning Vietnam as a sustainable microchip manufacturer.

Team Seaweed, consisting of Le Bao Ngoc and Le Minh Anh (Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Quang Binh) chose the theme of Green Medicine to introduce the idea of ​​medical gloves from seaweed with an environmentally friendly production process, reducing rubber waste and utilizing sustainable materials. In addition to environmental protection, the Seaweed team hopes to find economic development opportunities for coastal residents, while reducing the risk of chemical allergies and creating new trends in the healthcare industry.

In addition, there are ideas with high potential for application such as biological pesticides from penta-colored flowers, sanitary napkins made from biological materials, producing carbon-negative cement by using CO2-absorbing minerals such as calcium silicate and calcium carbonate, designing artificial channels paved with soil, gravel and trees to help slow down the flow of rainwater, filter pollutants and reduce flooding...

Ms. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Green Future Fund, shared: "During the 3-month competition, the continuous efforts and enthusiasm of the contestants were clearly demonstrated through each stage. All of this promises to bring about a dramatic and explosive competition round in the near future."

The ranking round of the "Green Voice" debate competition season 2 will be held at VinUni University on January 18 and 19, 2025. The competition rules for each round of the ranking round will be the same as the confrontation round but with the addition of a debate with the judges about their ideas.

Individuals and teams will compete in a knockout format from the quarter-finals, semi-finals to the finals in two groups in English and Vietnamese. The results will be announced directly after each match.
