At Anfield, Liverpool, as usual, showed strong attacking power against weaker opponents Norwich. The home team opened the scoring in the 16th minute thanks to a close-range header from Jones.
6 minutes later, Norwich surprisingly equalized with a header from Gibson, after a corner kick. But just 6 minutes later, Liverpool regained the lead. Receiving a pass from Bradley, Nunez easily defeated the opposing goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.

In the second half, Liverpool continued to dominate the field. In the 53rd and 63rd minutes, Jota and Van Dijk scored to help The Kop lead 4-1. Norwich scored another goal in the 69th minute thanks to Sainz, before Gravenberch headed the ball into the net in injury time, sealing a 5-2 victory for Liverpool.
In the match that followed, MU had a difficult time against the team playing in the English League 4, Newport County. 2 early goals from Bruno Fernandes and Mainoo gave the Red Devils a 2-0 lead, but the home team scored 2 goals to equalize 2-2 in the 47th minute.

However, with a much better squad, MU still knew how to win. In the 68th and 90+5th minutes, Antony and Hojlund scored, helping coach Erik Ten Hag's team win 4-2 against Newport County and enter the 5th round of the FA Cup with Liverpool.
