While the State budget for the restoration and embellishment of relics is still limited, many localities in Ha Tinh have been flexible and creative in mobilizing social resources to upgrade relics in the area, promoting traditional values in people's lives.
The Forbidden Palace and the Upper Palace of Truong Bat Temple (Ngoc Son Commune, Thach Ha) have just been restored with a total cost of 11 billion VND from socialized sources.
At the end of September 2023, the People's Committee of Ngoc Son Commune (Thach Ha) held an inauguration ceremony to renovate and embellish the forbidden palace and the upper hall of Truong Bat Temple with a total cost of about 11 billion VND. This investment capital was entirely funded by the local government and the Temple Management Board mobilizing benefactors.
Meritorious artisan Ngo Thanh Can - Head of Truong Bat Temple said: "We are very excited that the restoration and renovation of the temple has been enthusiastically supported by benefactors, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province. With the inauguration of the palace and the upper hall this time, the relic is gradually completing the overall items of a cultural and spiritual work hundreds of years old."
Inside the palace and the upper hall of Truong Bat Temple have just been renovated.
Truong Bat Temple worships Lady Loc, whose real name is Pham Thi Thoa, who is said to be a brave female general of the Lam Son insurgent army, led by Le Loi (1385-1433). She contributed to defeating the invading Ming army and regaining independence for the country. After her death, she was buried in Truong Bat and a temple was built by the people to worship her.
After many ups and downs of time, the temple was degraded. In 2006, Meritorious Artist Ngo Thanh Can asked for permission from the government and called on the people to restore and embellish part of the relic. In 2011, the temple was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic. In 2021, in order to continue upgrading the project, the Temple Management Board and Ngoc Son Commune continued to mobilize and call for the construction of a palace and a main hall. The project was completed in September 2023 with a total cost of 11 billion VND from socialized sources.

Along with Truong Bat Temple, after many years of degradation, the provincial historical relic Nguyen Sy Quy Temple in Viet Tien Commune (Thach Ha) has also been restored and embellished. The project has an investment capital of 8 billion VND, of which, in addition to 150 million VND from the State budget, the remaining amount is mobilized from the descendants of the famous person and the people's contributions.
Nguyen Sy Quy Church in Viet Tien Commune (Thach Ha) is being urgently completed.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Vy - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thach Ha district said: "Since the beginning of the year, localities across the district have mobilized over 30 billion VND in socialized resources to restore and embellish historical and cultural relics. In particular, in addition to Truong Bat temple and Nguyen Sy Quy church, there are many other works such as Nguyen Doan Tinh church (Thach Son), Pham Duy Hieu church (Thach Long)... Mobilizing socialized resources is of great significance when promptly upgrading relics, preventing degradation, and at the same time promoting the value of relics in people's lives".
From the beginning of 2023 until now, Huong Khe has also mobilized nearly 32 billion VND to renovate and embellish relics such as: War Crime Relics of Huong Phuc Secondary School (Huong Trach Commune), Temple and Tomb of Duc Dai Vuong Duong Do (Phuc Dong Commune)...
The relic "Evidence of war crimes at Huong Phuc Secondary School" (Huong Trach commune, Huong Khe) after being invested in and restored.
In particular, the national historical and cultural relic "Evidence of war crimes of Huong Phuc Secondary School" has invested a total of nearly 2.6 billion VND (the provincial and district budgets supported 700 million VND, the rest is from socialized sources); The Temple and Tomb of Duc Dai Vuong Duong Do (Phuc Dong commune) mobilized 30 billion VND (sponsored by Giang Nam Petroleum Company Limited)... Currently, the Temple and Tomb of Duc Dai Vuong Duong Do project is undergoing renovation, embellishment and upgrading of the tomb item with an estimated budget of 3.8 billion VND, other items will be deployed in the near future.
Part of the Temple and Tomb of King Duong Do (Phuc Dong Commune, Huong Khe) has just been renovated and embellished.
Along with Thach Ha and Huong Khe, recently, many other localities across the province such as Nghi Xuan, Can Loc, Huong Son... have also mobilized tens of billions of VND from the social sector to restore and promote the value of historical and cultural relics.
The church of famous people Vu Duy Ang and Vu Duy Du in Vuong Loc commune (Can Loc) was inaugurated in August 2023, with an investment capital of 1,076 billion VND, of which the State budget is 120 million VND, the rest is contributed by descendants and the people.
Through a recent survey across the province, we have found that the state of historical and cultural relics has been significantly degraded. In the context of limited state budget, localities actively mobilizing and calling on people and sponsors to restore and embellish historical and cultural relics is a very practical and meaningful work. Hopefully, in the coming time, localities will continue to promote their internal resources, together with all levels and sectors, make more efforts in the socialization of restoration and embellishment of relics, contributing to promoting and spreading cultural and historical values in people's lives.
