According to the 2024-2025 school year time frame issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, for preschool education, general education and continuing education, the school year will end before May 31, 2025.
Consider recognition of completion of primary school program and consider recognition of graduation from secondary school before June 30, 2025.
Complete enrollment for first-level classes before July 31, 2025. The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27, 2025.
Other national exams are organized according to regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The final exam schedule for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education in each locality will be specifically decided by the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province or centrally-run city to suit the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.

Teachers' annual leave is implemented during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and school year schedule of the locality.
The school year schedule needs to ensure consistency for all levels of education in a residential area, especially in general schools with many levels of education.
Regarding implementation responsibilities, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province or centrally-run city decides: The school year schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education is suitable to local realities.
Early school start time and extension of the school year shall not exceed 15 days to ensure implementation and completion of preschool education, general education and continuing education programs in case of natural disasters or epidemics; for special cases arising, report to the Ministry of Education and Training before implementation.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training decides to let students stay home from school in case of extreme weather or natural disasters and arrange make-up classes; ensure teachers' time off during the school year.

For Ho Chi Minh City, semester II starts from January 13, 2025, ensuring 17 weeks of study, the rest is for other activities.
