2024 Olympic schedule on August 1: Anh Nguyet, Quoc Phong compete

On the August 1st competition day of Vietnamese sports, only two athletes will compete. Le Quoc Phong will compete in the men's individual single-strap bow event. Anh Nguyet's opponent in the round of 32 tonight is Mobina Fallah (Iran). If she wins and advances to the round of 16 at 01:29 on August 2, Anh Nguyet will meet one of two opponents: Elif Gokkir (Türkiye) and Nurul Fazil (Malaysia).

After 5 days of competition, 6 out of 16 Vietnamese athletes have said goodbye to the Paris Olympics: Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (badminton), Hoang Thi Tinh (judo), Vo Thi Kim Anh, Ha Thi Linh (judo), Le Thi Mong Tuyen (shooting). Rower Pham Thi Hue has also lost hope of winning a medal and will only compete to rank from 19th to 24th on August 2.

In addition to Quoc Phong and Anh Nguyet who will compete in archery tonight, among the Vietnamese athletes who competed, Trinh Thu Vinh had the best result when she ranked 4th in the final of the women's 10m air pistol. Trinh Thu Vinh will compete in the qualifying round of the women's 25m pistol at 2:00 p.m. on August 2. If she makes it to the final, she will compete at 2:30 p.m. on August 3.

Swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang finished 28th out of 31 in the men's 800m freestyle qualifying round and failed to make it to the finals. The athlete from Quang Binh will compete in the men's 1,500m freestyle qualifying round on August 3.

Among the Vietnamese athletes who have yet to compete, swimmer Vo Thi My Tien will compete in the women's 200m medley qualifying round on the afternoon of August 2. Track and field athlete Tran Thi Nhi Yen will compete in the women's 100m qualifying round on August 3.

Racer Nguyen Thi That will compete in the women's road cycling race on August 4, while weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh will compete in the men's under-61kg weightlifting event on August 7. On August 8, rower Nguyen Thi Huong will compete in the canoeing qualifying round for the women's 200m single sculls.
