Dong Loc T-junction is not only a place name, but also an immortal symbol of patriotism, sacrifice and the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people. Located on the Ho Chi Minh trail, Dong Loc T-junction in Dong Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province, used to be a hot spot during the fierce war days, where the US air force bombed heavily to destroy the vital traffic route of the North. But it was here that the blood and sweat of thousands of youth volunteers, soldiers, and people together created a resounding heroic epic, deeply engraved in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.

During the years of the war against the US, Dong Loc Junction became the fiercest battlefield. In particular, from April to October 1968, this place suffered nearly 50,000 bombs of all kinds, turning the road into a land full of bomb craters, not a single inch of land remained intact. However, young soldiers, female youth volunteers, and traffic workers still fought day and night, filling bomb craters, repairing roads, opening the way for convoys of trucks carrying weapons and food to the South. They worked with a brave spirit, not afraid of danger, sacrificing their youth to keep the traffic arteries open, so that the country could survive.

One of the most heroic stories associated with Dong Loc T-junction is the sacrifice of 10 female youth volunteers from Squad 4, Company 552. On July 24, 1968, while on a mission to fill bomb craters and repair a destroyed road, they encountered a fierce bombing from American planes. The 10 girls, the youngest of whom was only 17 years old, died while on duty, leaving behind endless grief and deep admiration from the people of the whole country. The names of Vo Thi Tan, Ho Thi Cuc, Nguyen Thi Nho, and their comrades have become symbols of courage and indomitable spirit. These girls not only sacrificed for a road, but also left an invaluable legacy for the whole nation of indomitable will and love for the Fatherland.

Dong Loc T-junction, since then, has become a sacred symbol. This place is not only the land of war, but also the land of national pride, of memories engraved in the hearts of generations of Vietnamese people. Every year, thousands of people from all over the country come here to burn incense and commemorate those who have fallen. Dong Loc T-junction relic site with many memorial works, from the Victory Monument to the Memorial House of heroic martyrs, the graves of 10 female youth volunteers, are all sacred stops, bringing deep emotions to every visitor.
