The 2024 Green Wave Awards ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium, Ho Chi Minh City.

Nominated for the Green Wave Achievement Award

At the ceremony, the organizers also officially announced the awarding of the Green Wave Achievement Award to two veteran composers, Duong Thu and Bao Chan, in recognition of their immense contributions to Vietnamese music . Over several decades, their compositions have not only created brilliant milestones for the Green Wave program but have also served as a launching pad for numerous outstanding vocalists, helping to shape the flow of modern Vietnamese music.

It's not an exaggeration to say that 2024 was a year of "male dominance" in the music industry, as male artists truly outnumbered female artists by almost double. This year, Son Tung M-TP led with 5 nominations, including Song of the Year ("Don't Break My Heart"), Phenomenal Song ("Don't Break My Heart"), Producer of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Male Singer/Rapper of the Year.

Meanwhile, Phan Manh Quynh, an artist beloved for his unique and emotionally rich musical style, holds 4 nominations. After declining nominations for both Song of the Year and Phenomenal Song, this is a rare instance of a film OST achieving this feat at the Green Wave Awards. In addition, his album CineLove was nominated for Album of the Year, and Phan Manh Quynh himself was nominated for Male Singer/Rapper of the Year, confirming a vibrant and high-quality year of activity. Vu. also performed well with 3 nominations including Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Singer/Rapper of the Year.

On the female side, Bich Phuong and Vu Cat Tuong each received two nominations. Director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu also received two nominations in the Music Video of the Year category for "Hoa Ca" (theme song "Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai") and "Khong Ra Gi," Truc Nhan's latest musical product.

Prominent among the nominees is the explosion of young artists emerging from reality TV shows. HIEUTHUHAI, Quang Hung MasterD, Lou Hoang, RHYDER, Duong Domic, Phap Kieu, and Captain Boy are among the names holding numerous nominations in various categories of the 2024 Green Wave Awards. The band Da LAB, with their debut album M∞n, is also a highlight in this year's nominations, because M∞n is not only a milestone in the band's musical career but also the last product featuring all four members, holding special significance for their fans. The album M∞n is an emotional story about Da LAB's growth, connection, and passion for music, concluding a memorable journey for these four individuals.

It's impossible not to mention the interesting Breakthrough Artist category, where all five nominees are male artists, all of whom have made a significant impact through music reality TV shows. Lou Hoang, Quang Hung MasterD, and RHYDER "surpassed themselves" with "Anh trai say hi" (Brother Says Hi), while SOOBIN and Quoc Thien made a strong breakthrough with "Anh trai vượt ngàn chông gai" (Brother Overcomes a Thousand Thorns). Their inclusion confirms the significant influence of these two programs on the Vietnamese music market this year.

The Male Singer/Rapper of the Year category at the 2024 Green Wave Awards brings together leading names in Vietnam's current audience popularity. HIEUTHUHAI and Quang Hung MasterD made a strong impression through the "Anh trai say hi" program, with many individual hits as well as hits from the show. Phan Manh Quynh achieved success with the soundtrack for the movie MAI and the album CineLove, and will soon have his first concert in Ho Chi Minh City. Vu had a brilliant 2024 with his album "Bao tang cua nuoi tiec" (Museum of Regrets) featuring a series of hits such as: "Neu nhung tiec tiec," "Danh he xuan thi de cho nhau," "Nhung loi huo bo quen," "Binh yen," and two large-scale concerts in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi .

In the Female Artist/Rapper of the Year category, Ha Nhi made her mark with the hit song "Khuoc Tu" and the successful "She In Shine" tour across 5 major cities, which consistently sold out, showcasing the singer's strong appeal. Hoa Minzy continued to shine with her hit "Ken Ca Chon Canh," solidifying her position in the hearts of her fans. She will soon have a large-scale fan meeting in Hanoi. Bich Phuong returned to the music scene with the creative MV "Nang Chen Tieu Sau." Vu Cat Tuong continued to create a sensation with "Tung La," while Tlinh achieved success with her harmonious collaborations with Soobin in "Ai Ma Biet Duoc" and with LowG in "Phong Zin Zin." Each artist brought a unique musical style, creating an exciting and captivating competition.
