Opening ceremony no congratulatory flowers accepted

Today, September 18, in Hanoi, Foreign Trade University held the opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year. This is also an event to welcome more than 3,000 new students of the 63rd course and new students of other training programs currently studying at the main campus in Hanoi. This is the first opening ceremony that Foreign Trade University has conducted without accepting congratulatory flowers from individuals, organizations, businesses, and partners.

Staff, lecturers and students of Foreign Trade University support people affected by natural disasters through a "special flower basket" on the opening day of the 2024-2025 school year.

Previously, the school had informed individuals, organizations, businesses, and partners about this policy, as a way to express sympathy and concern for the people in the localities who have suffered and are suffering the severe consequences of natural disasters and floods caused by storm No. 3.

In the announcement, the school hopes that the congratulations of individuals, organizations, businesses, and partners can be converted into contributions to support movements and relief funds to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods, as well as individuals and households in difficult circumstances in general, to make the ceremony more meaningful.

Right on the stage of the ceremony, the school prepared a "special flower basket", which was the announcement "Sharing and sending love" with the account information of the Central Relief Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front so that the delegates, staff, lecturers and students of the school could proactively contribute and join hands to help people in localities suffering from severe consequences of natural disasters.

This "flower basket" will be placed permanently on the school campus to spread the spirit of community.

A representative of Foreign Trade University said that from this year onwards, the school plans to make it a practice not to accept congratulatory flower baskets for the opening ceremony.

It is known that this year, Foreign Trade University continues to be one of the schools with the highest standard scores in the country. The school's new students have 2 students who are the national valedictorians of the D02 and D06 groups, including Duong Thi Phuong Thao (former student of Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted, Ha Nam, D01) and Hoang Duong Nhat Anh (former student of Kim Lien High School, Hanoi, D06), both achieving 28.1 points, and both chose to study the foreign economic standard program.

At the opening ceremony, the leaders of Foreign Trade University awarded certificates of merit and medals to the new national valedictorians and the entire university valedictorians, 7 new students with the highest results according to each admission method at the Hanoi headquarters in 2024, as well as outstanding students with excellent achievements in studying, scientific research and extracurricular activities in the 2023-2024 school year.
