Cho Cui Temple, also known as Thanh Mau Linh Tu or Co Doc Linh Tu, was built during the Later Le Dynasty. The temple worships Thanh Mau and Quan Hoang Muoi (a general of the Lam Son uprising army) who had the merit of repelling the invading Ming army.
The temple has a Tam-shaped structure consisting of the following items: the gate, the lower hall, the middle hall and the upper hall. With a history of hundreds of years, although it has undergone several restorations and embellishments, the temple still retains its ancient features.
The architectural layout of Cho Cui Temple is connected together along the sacred axis. The entire inner space is arranged into worshiping palaces from top to bottom, including the Holy Mother Palace (worshiping the Three Palaces), the Five Gods Palace, the Quan Hoang Muoi Palace, the Chau Muoi Palace and the Tran Trieu Palace.
With many historical, cultural and architectural values, in 1993, Cho Cui Temple was ranked as a national historical, architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The 2023 Cho Cui Temple Festival aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation, commemorate the merits of the gods who have contributed to the country. At the same time, through the festival, we will propagate and educate the tradition of patriotism, love for the homeland, and national pride for generations; mobilize and gather many organizations and social forces to actively preserve, promote, and exploit the values of cultural heritage associated with economic and social development; promote the culture and image of the homeland to domestic and foreign tourists. Up to this point, we have directed the preparation work to be deployed, ready for the festival to take place successfully.
