What's new in Huong Pagoda Festival 2024?

The 2024 Perfume Pagoda Festival in Hanoi will take place over 3 months, opening on February 15 (January 6) with the theme: "Safe - Civilized - Friendly"

According to Mr. Dang Van Canh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Duc District, Hanoi City, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Huong Pagoda Festival, all preparations for this year's festival season are ready. The landscape space from Yen Stream area to the ritual areas has been decorated cleanly, beautifully, and civilly.

The Organizing Committee has established 5 sub-committees, 1 ticket control station, and 1 interdisciplinary inspection team. At the same time, specific and detailed tasks are assigned to each member of the sub-committees to develop a scenario for managing and organizing the festival safely and thoughtfully.

To avoid congestion and overload during the first days of the festival, the Management Board of Huong Son Relics and Landscape Site replaced paper tickets with electronic tickets, improved the quality of boat management, arranged shops, traffic flow, 4 bus stations with a capacity of 5,000 passengers; and prevented haphazard parking.

Currently, the People's Committee of Huong Son commune has directed cooperatives and villages to review statistics and register the number of boats participating in transporting passengers during the Huong Pagoda festival in 2024. Currently, there are 3,800 - 4,500 boats that meet the standards to serve passengers such as having enough seats, life jackets, wifi, umbrellas, etc.

"The Organizing Committee will regularly set up inspection teams to prevent the use of motorboats, street vendors on boats, and gambling on boats like in previous years. The issuance and printing of electronic tickets and the collection of parking fees will be in accordance with regulations," said Mr. Dang Van Canh.

The new feature of this year's Huong Pagoda Festival is that electric cars will be put into operation to serve tourists along three routes: Hoi Xa bus station - Yen Vy ferry; Duc Khe bus station - Dong Cu ferry; Road No. 1 bus station - Tuyet Son pagoda ferry.

The number of electric cars put into operation is 110 cars, the seats of the vehicles are from 8 to 14 seats, ensuring the quality of the cars, safety, following the right route, publicly listed prices, convenient circulation, avoiding causing trouble for tourists. The price of the electric car service is 20,000 VND for one trip from the bus station to the Yen stream ferry area.

The ticket price for the scenic spot is 120,000 VND/person, the round-trip ferry ticket price for the Thien Tru - Huong Tich route is 85,000 VND/person. The round-trip ferry ticket price for the Thanh Son - Long Van route is 65,000 VND/person.

Mr. Nguyen Van Canh added that My Duc district has directed relevant subcommittees to be ready to stand by, inspect and supervise festival activities to ensure safety and civility. In addition, propaganda and recommendations are being made to visitors and relevant units to proactively join hands in maintaining environmental hygiene, behaving in a civilized and polite manner, not playing cards for money on boats, not littering, etc.
