This year’s Am Chua Festival includes many traditional rituals such as: traditional sacrifices, incense offering, singing and dancing performed by pilgrimage groups inside and outside the province. The Organizing Committee said it has received registrations from more than 100 pilgrimage groups with about 3,000 people. In addition, local authorities estimate that about 11,000 more people and independent tourists will attend the festival.

To ensure security, order and safety for the festival, the locality has coordinated with relevant agencies to deploy measures to prevent theft, robbery and disturbance; strengthen traffic control and prevent and fight fires and explosions. In particular, all food and beverage establishments in the commune have signed a commitment to ensure food hygiene and safety. The Organizing Committee also stipulates that no food or beverage will be served within the relic site.

The Am Chua Festival is an important cultural and spiritual event, demonstrating the traditional Mother Goddess worship of the people of Khanh Hoa and other provinces and cities. Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, a member of the pilgrimage group from Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa shared: “For many years, our group has been coming to Am Chua to pray for good things for ourselves, our families and everyone. The Mother Goddess worship helps us to have good thoughts and actions.”

Am Chua relic is associated with the legend of Thien YA Na, a profound cultural symbol in the minds of the Vietnamese people. This relic was destroyed during the war and restored in 1987. In 1999, Am Chua was recognized as a national relic. Thanks to the cooperation of the community and the attention of authorities at all levels, Am Chua today has become an attractive spiritual and tourist destination.

The image of Thien YA Na in Vietnamese folk beliefs is a combination of Vietnamese and Cham culture, honoring the role of the Mother of the land, Mother Earth, Mother Rice. Am Chua Festival is an opportunity for people to review the legend of Mother Thien YA Na, who taught people to plow, weave, fight against foreign invaders, bringing a peaceful and prosperous life. The festival contributes to preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values ​​of the nation.
