The Football Association of Thailand invited a police lieutenant general to investigate the SEA Games final brawl.

On May 18, FAT held a meeting and decided to establish an investigation committee to find out the truth surrounding the fight between players and coaching staff of U22 Thailand and Indonesia on May 16.

"These issues will damage the image of Thai football and cause a lot of damage to FAT. Therefore, the investigation committee needs to find the truth, invite witnesses, collect evidence to give a conclusion to FAT within 15 days. From there, the committee will also propose solutions and measures to handle it," FAT announced.

The head of the investigation committee is still Lieutenant General Nimmano. This is not the first time he has done this task. In 2022, Thai public opinion was also stirred up by the news that an assistant of Madam Pang, Head of the Thai Football Delegation, sexually harassed some players of the U22/23 team of this country. After that, the FAT established an investigation committee and Mr. Nimmano was the head of the committee.

After the brawl in the final match, the head of the Thai U22 delegation at the 32nd SEA Games, Mr. Yuttana Yimkarun, decided to resign. Mr. Yimkarum took responsibility for not being able to control the behavior of the players and assistant coaches. Mr. Yimkarun is also the Vice President of FAT.

Also related to this incident, Mr. Piyapong Pue-on, one of the candidates running for the FAT presidency in August, spoke out in criticism: "The conflict between players is not new, we have witnessed it before. But what is worth mentioning and unforgivable this time is that some members of the coaching staff quarreled with the Indonesian side. As a coach, they should stop their players, not rush into a fight."
