Lao Cai urgently prevents animal diseases

Faced with the complicated developments of animal diseases, on April 8, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee issued an urgent document requesting departments, branches and localities to tighten the work of preventing and controlling animal diseases to protect the livestock industry, public health and the environment.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are requested to continue to strictly implement the instructions in Documents No. 1089/UBND-NLN (dated March 3) and 1431/UBND-NLN (dated March 18) of the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time urgently deploy the contents according to Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-TTg dated April 4, 2025 of the Prime Minister .

Localities must review and accelerate the progress of the first phase of vaccination in 2025 to ensure quality and effectiveness. This work needs to be specifically assigned, closely monitored, and implemented with the right techniques to avoid waste.

At the same time, the People's Committees at the commune level and specialized agencies were assigned to evaluate the results of the first phase of the peak month of sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization, and resolutely eliminate pathogens in high-risk areas. People were encouraged to maintain environmental hygiene, especially in livestock areas, village roads, and alleys.

Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Environment directed the provincial Department of Veterinary Medicine and Plant Protection to coordinate with localities to organize additional vaccinations for newly imported livestock, and at the same time inspect the use and management of vaccines and chemicals throughout the province.

Lao Cai Center for Agricultural Extension and Rural Clean Water is assigned to strengthen communication, raise public awareness about disease prevention and control and policies to support vaccines and chemicals.

Relevant departments and branches such as Health, Finance, Science and Technology... need to proactively coordinate and synchronously deploy solutions according to the direction of the central government and Lao Cai province to effectively prevent the epidemic in the area.
