Vietnamese and Chinese leaders exchange congratulatory messages on 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Leaders of Vietnam and China exchanged congratulatory messages on the 74th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2024), General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong exchanged congratulatory messages with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh exchanged congratulatory messages with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue exchanged congratulatory messages with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji. On this occasion, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also exchanged congratulatory messages with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. In recent times, the overall Vietnam-China relationship has maintained a stable development momentum and achieved many positive results, especially after the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 30 - November 1, 2022) and the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife (December 12-13, 2023). In the Vietnam-China joint statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance during the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife, the two sides agreed to promote Vietnam-China relations into a new stage with higher political trust, more substantive defense-security cooperation, a more solid social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, better control and resolution of disagreements, joining hands to promote the development of world socialism, and actively contributing to the cause of peace and progress of mankind.
