According to EVNSPC's report, in the first months of this year, Ninh Thuan recorded high load demand, strong increase in capacity and output (up 10.1% over the same period in 2023). The load increase was mainly from domestic customers during the time frame from 6-9 pm and industrial customers working overtime. In addition, commercial electricity reached 212.213 million kWh (up 18.46%), the second highest growth in output compared to 21 provinces and cities in the region managed by EVNSPC. Regarding grid investment, EVNSPC is currently investing in the province with a total capital of more than 257 billion VND; of which, the transmission grid project is more than 107.7 billion VND, the distribution grid is more than 149.2 billion VND, with 14 distribution grid projects expected to be put into operation by the end of 2024, however, some locations are facing construction site problems.

At the meeting, EVNSPC proposed that the Provincial People's Committee continue to strictly direct the implementation of Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years in the province. Direct the Management Board of Industrial Parks and large-capacity customers to periodically provide full information on load development needs so that the electricity sector can promptly develop plans and scenarios to ensure electricity supply. Direct sectors and localities to facilitate and support the electricity sector in site clearance work, promptly issue specific land prices to implement investment according to approved progress and planning.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with Ninh Thuan Electricity to develop a plan for electricity use for electricity users; step up propaganda for units and localities to strictly implement Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, and have effective solutions in saving electricity use. Regarding site clearance for power grid projects, EVNSPC was requested to have a document summarizing specific problems so that the province could direct relevant sectors and localities to handle them. Through the meeting, the province also recommended that EVNSPC have a plan to invest in infrastructure and allocate electricity sources to localities to ensure production, life, and socio-economic development of the province in the coming time.
