Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to a report on site clearance for Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant.

On the morning of March 17, comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the nuclear power project to listen to a report on the site clearance work for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant.

According to the Provincial Land Fund Development and Investment Project Management Board, the resettlement area of ​​Nuclear Power Plant 1 has a total area of ​​64.84 hectares (an increase of 21.17 hectares compared to the previously approved area), with a total of 605 residential plots, each plot of 300 m2. The resettlement area of ​​Nuclear Power Plant 2 has an area of ​​54.39 hectares (an increase of 10.74 hectares compared to the previously approved area), with a total of 629 residential plots, of which 449 plots have an area of ​​200 m2 each, 100 plots have an area of ​​250 m2 each, and 80 plots have an area of ​​300 m2 each. Regarding the land acquisition situation at Nuclear Power Plant 1, the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district has currently completed the issuance of land recovery notices (497 households in the factory area, 27 households in the resettlement area). For Nuclear Power Plant 2, the resettlement area has been inventoried since March 9; the locality has organized an inventory and issued a notice of land recovery for 190/190 households. At the plant area, a notice of land recovery has been issued for 450/450 households and the notice of land recovery has been sent to the households. As of March 13, 23/450 households have been inventoried. The Ninh Hai District People's Committee has also approved the task of estimating the specific land price.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that sectors, units and localities further accelerate the progress of completion according to the set plan, promptly advise on investment preparation and arrange capital for implementation; organize the adjustment of detailed planning of resettlement areas as a basis for preparing a feasibility study report. Specifically review the planning boundaries of the adjusted resettlement areas so that the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects and Land Fund Development has a basis for implementing the next steps. The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of Thuan Nam and Ninh Hai districts to implement the tasks based on the special policy mechanism issued under Resolution No. 189/NQ/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025 of the National Assembly, Decision No. 1504/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2013 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the compensation and resettlement support mechanism for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant, comparing it with current land law regulations to propose to competent authorities to allow the application of policies to support households in the project area. At the same time, review the GPMB calculation data of the two districts of Ninh Hai and Thuan Nam as a basis for updating the compensation and site clearance plan to provide to EVN and PVN to adjust the project.
