Provincial leaders survey the actual situation of the Titanium Slag Factory project in Bac Binh

On March 20, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang conducted a field survey of the Titanium Slag Production Factory project of Hung Thinh Zirconium and Titanium Production Joint Stock Company in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district.

Also attending were representatives of the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Construction, Department of Science and Technology, and People's Committee of Bac Binh district.

Accordingly, the company is implementing two main projects on mineral exploitation and processing in Bac Binh district, in addition to promoting investment procedures for a number of other projects: a refining factory with a capacity of 300,000 tons of heavy minerals/year, a complex for deep processing of titanium - zircon - monazite minerals and associated minerals.

It is known that Hung Thinh Zirconium and Titanium Production Joint Stock Company currently has nearly 475 employees (of which 355 are local workers) with an average income of 124 million VND/person last year. Up to now, the unit has established a Trade Union and a grassroots Party cell, a militia squad, and a grassroots fire prevention and fighting team equipped with working equipment and fully trained. In addition to making a significant contribution to the budget, in 2023 and early 2024, the enterprise also supported the locality with about 3.2 billion VND for the activities of the National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan Green Convergence", the Announcement Ceremony of the New Period Planning of Binh Thuan Province, building gratitude houses, giving Tet gifts, supporting the Gratitude Fund, for the poor, etc.

However, in the process of operating and implementing the project according to the development orientation, Hung Thinh Zirconium and Titanium Production Joint Stock Company still encountered some difficulties and problems such as: Power supply for the factory, land use planning, construction planning, raw materials for production and processing... At the meeting, these issues were also discussed by representatives of relevant departments and localities, contributing opinions and proposing solutions for the business.

In his concluding remarks, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang acknowledged that Hung Thinh Zirconium and Titanium Production Joint Stock Company has made many efforts in the past time. Especially, it has shown its determination to invest in expanding production scale, proactively researching and building relationships to have the opportunity to grasp modern specialized technology. At the same time, it has participated in creating jobs with stable income for many workers as well as actively contributing to the locality through practical activities...

Regarding the recommendations, the provincial leaders suggested that the company study the establishment of an industrial cluster to stabilize operations and serve the long-term development strategy. During the implementation process, relevant departments and localities need to pay attention to supporting businesses in completing documents and procedures as well as coordinating to find solutions to meet electricity, water, raw materials, etc. to ensure production activities. In particular, Hung Thinh Zirconium and Titanium Production Joint Stock Company proactively prepares resources (capital, human resources, technology) to facilitate the expansion of scale and continue to develop the project according to the orientation.
