Ha Tinh city leaders dialogue with union members and youth

Important issues related to digital transformation, youth start-up policies, improving the quality of the Youth Union staff, Youth Union leaders, etc. were discussed frankly by the Youth Union members and young people with the leaders of Ha Tinh city.

On the afternoon of August 24, Ha Tinh City organized a dialogue conference between the Chairman of Ha Tinh City People's Committee and union members and youth in 2023. Chairman of Ha Tinh City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hieu chaired the conference.

At the forum, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hieu affirmed that currently, the entire political system is focusing on building and developing a city with a suitable scale, synchronous infrastructure, gradually becoming smart and modern, striving to become one of the central cities of the North Central region. Therefore, the requirement to promote digital transformation and develop the digital economy is of special importance.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that union members and young people frankly discuss and actively raise questions and shortcomings in the process of implementing movements at the grassroots level to contribute to the good implementation of local political tasks in the coming time.

In the spirit of democracy and openness, at the dialogue, 12 union members and young people directly discussed with the Chairman of the City People's Committee many questions revolving around the issues of digital transformation, security and safety in cyberspace such as: solutions to strengthen training, professional development, skills to access digital transformation; material conditions serving the activities of community digital transformation teams; ways to limit crime and law violations related to fraudulent activities to appropriate property in cyberspace; some orientations for digital transformation of the city's land database system to support economic development for young people...

Union member Vo Thi Thuan (Nguyen Du ward) suggested having more mechanisms or solutions to support digital transformation teams at the grassroots level.

Along with that, policies on starting a business for young people, supporting young people to access technology, applying digital transformation in the fields of urban agriculture, trade and services, ensuring food hygiene and safety in schools... were also mentioned by many union members and young people.

Union member Tran Thi Tham (Van Yen ward) said that the annual budget for Union activities at the commune level is still very limited (average of about 6 - 8 million VND per year), and suggested that all levels and sectors have solutions to support the activities of the Union at the commune level.

The city's youth union members are also concerned about operating costs, working conditions, and the work of Youth Union and Young Pioneer cadres in schools; improving the quality of Youth Union cadres, Young Pioneer leaders, etc.

All opinions, recommendations and proposals of union members and young people at the conference were directly and specifically answered by the relevant departments and agencies. At the same time, more information was provided about important mechanisms and policies of the province and city to help young people have more opportunities to access policies and support resources in the process of starting a business and establishing a career...

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hieu acknowledged and praised the efforts of the youth force in the past time. Through the practical movement, the city's youth force has gradually matured, contributing with the city's Party Committee and government in implementing local political tasks such as building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, administrative reform, building digital government, digital economy, etc.

The issues raised by union members and youth at the dialogue are also issues that the city Party Committee and government are paying great attention to and focusing on solving; suggesting new directions to effectively implement important tasks in the local socio-economic development plan in the coming time.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that each member and youth always have ideals and ambitions to become a vanguard force, leading the way in the cause of building and developing the city. After this dialogue, departments, offices and sectors continued to consult on contents related to digital transformation of the sector and field; propose specific and appropriate directions to promote the role of youth in digital transformation.

Along with that, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hieu also emphasized and clarified a number of key issues of the city in the coming time such as: needing to coordinate well in information and propaganda work to raise awareness of Party committees at all levels, authorities, people and businesses about digital transformation, building smart cities; providing maximum support for businesses, cooperatives, and people to access mechanisms and policies on economic development; speeding up the progress of consulting on the implementation of the Pilot Project on smart city models for the period 2022-2025...

Regarding state management of youth, there should be specific solutions to improve the quality of leadership and direction of youth activities; mobilize maximum resources, especially socialized resources, to develop the movement...

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hieu suggested that the union members and youths should continue to promote their role and initiative in the city's digital transformation tasks in the coming time; focus on studying Decision No. 897 of the Prime Minister approving the Program "Supporting Youth Start-ups"; be exemplary in implementing online public services when transacting and interacting with the government; actively participate in the community digital transformation team at the unit...

After the dialogue conference, the City People's Committee focused on directing specialized departments to deploy many contents to support young people in starting a business, establishing a career, and solving employment.

Accordingly, the city has issued a program to support young people in Ha Tinh city to start businesses, creating favorable conditions for union members and young people to access early and benefit from mechanisms and policies; focusing on implementing the project "Supporting rural youth to start businesses and develop the economy associated with the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program".

Up to now, the city has 14 products certified to meet OCOP standards, some of which are ideas from young people participating in startups such as: An Tam clean vermicelli, Hao Thanh lotus tea, Tam Thien Huong agarwood, HT cajeput essential oil, Tung Viet sim sticky rice wine...

Along with that, Ha Tinh City has built and expanded models of urban agricultural development, trade - services; implemented skills education, foreign language proficiency, information technology for union members, teenagers to promote the role of youth in international integration, start-ups, career establishment, administrative reform; built a program to coordinate with partners to organize activities on career counseling, employment, innovation, etc.
