Hanoi City leaders visit and present gifts to General Do Ba Ty

Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of December 5, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, on behalf of the leaders of Hanoi City, visited and presented gifts to General Do Ba Ty, former Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

Accordingly, this is an activity of Hanoi City to honor officers and generals in the armed forces on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024); the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan presented gifts from Hanoi City to General Do Ba Ty.

General Do Ba Ty was born in 1954 in Tan Lap commune, Dan Phuong district, Hanoi. In 1972, General Do Ba Ty enlisted in the Vietnam People's Army; after holding many positions, in December 2021, he retired according to the regime.

He is known as a General of the Vietnam People's Army; former Vice Chairman of the 14th National Assembly, in charge of defense and security issues.

With many great contributions to the cause of the Party and State, General Do Ba Ty was honored to receive many noble medals and orders.

General Do Ba Ty said that after retirement, he will continue to actively participate in local activities.

After visiting General Do Ba Ty and his family, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan informed about some main and typical features of the results of implementing the tasks of socio-economic development, national security and defense of the Capital in the past time and the key tasks in the coming time.

In particular, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan emphasized that Hanoi always pays attention to and does a good job in social security, repaying gratitude, and taking care of the lives of families with meritorious services in the area. In particular, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, Hanoi organized many delegations to visit and encourage comrades who are high-ranking generals in the army, who have contributed to the cause of building and developing the country and the capital.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan hopes that in the coming time, General Do Ba Ty will continue to pay attention and contribute ideas to the common activities of Hanoi; at the same time, he requested Tay Ho district to regularly pay attention and show gratitude to families of policy beneficiaries, families of meritorious people, and military generals living in the area.

Touched by the attention, visits and encouragement of the leaders of Hanoi City, General Do Ba Ty said that this is an honor for his family. The General affirmed that he will continue to be an exemplary citizen, his family will always comply with the policies of the Party and State; always fully participate in local activities as retirees, determined to complete the task, promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers to contribute to the common activities of the locality.
