On July 18, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a reporter's question asking for comment on the shooting of former US President Donald Trump at a campaign event on July 13, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang informed: "Vietnam's senior leaders have sent their condolences and wished the former President a speedy recovery. On this occasion, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims in the incident."

Donald Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on the morning of July 14 (Vietnam time). The incident left the Republican presidential candidate with an ear injury. This was Donald Trump's last campaign rally before the Republican National Convention this week.
