The art program at the 300th Anniversary of the Birth of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep created an impression and emotions in the audience about a personality and talent of his hometown Ha Tinh.

The program opened with the performance “Ke si La Son” performed by singer Dang Thuat - Thu Ha and the dance group of Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater. The performance recreated the homeland of Hong Mountain, La River with the tradition of studiousness and mother's lullabies that nurtured and shaped Nguyen Thiep's personality and character.
During the Tay Son dynasty, Nguyen Thiep served the king, helped the country, and became a national scholar in the 18th century. The performance also features the lyrics of today's generation expressing gratitude to the talented people, and a respectful incense offering to the nation's famous person - La Son scholar Nguyen Thiep.
Excerpt from the opera “Bui Phong Mountain Hermit” takes the audience back to the countryside of Nghe An on the Thien Nhan mountain range. The place marks the years when La Son Phu Tu returned to live in seclusion after retiring from office, but his heart was still filled with the pain of the country. Actress Thanh Nguyen (Ha Tinh NTTT Theater) plays the role of the virtuous wife of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep, Mrs. Dang Thi Nghi. The woman always works hard by her husband's side, always wanting him to use his talent to help others.
The scene where King Quang Trung Nguyen Hue (played by actor Du Quang Hung) expressed his earnest desire to seek wise men when he sent his courtiers to Bui Phong mountain three times to ask Nguyen Thiep to help the country. Faced with the courtiers' disdain for Nguyen Thiep, he scolded and expressed his respect for the wise man.
On the third occasion, when Le Chieu Thong led 290,000 Qing troops to invade our country, King Quang Trung went from Phu Xuan to the North to defeat the enemy, and Nguyen Thiep came down from the mountain to meet him. When Nguyen Thiep met him, King Quang Trung showed great joy.
Trusting and following Nguyen Thiep's advice, King Quang Trung decided to quickly send troops to defeat the 290,000 invading Qing troops, keeping the country's borders intact, and gaining independence for the nation in the spring of 1789.
Closing the excerpt of the opera “Bui Phong Mountain Hermit” is the song “Tay Son Buoc Chan Hao Kiet” by musician Le Quang, performed by singer Tien Hung and the dance group of Ha Tinh NTTT Theater. The performance carries a heroic melody with the swift footsteps of the Tay Son army, under the leadership of King Quang Trung, marching to the North to defeat the invaders, regaining the sacred territory of the Fatherland.
The excerpt from the opera “Phuong Hoang - Trung Do” shows King Quang Trung’s aspiration in choosing a place to establish a capital to pacify the country. The King summoned Nguyen Thiep and asked for his opinion. “Having received his words, it was like a burden was lifted from my heart” when Nguyen Thiep pointed out that the land of Phuong Hoang - Trung Do was a land of mountains and rivers, gathering energy, King Quang Trung was extremely excited. He decided to assign Nguyen Thiep and other famous scholars to prepare the work to build a new capital.
The songs “Ve que em Ha Tinh” by musician Phan Huy Ha and “Ha Tinh dat phuong hoang” by musician An Thuyen performed by Dang Thuat, Thu Ha and the dance group of Ha Tinh NTTT Theater ended the profound art program celebrating the 300th birthday of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep.
