Spreading the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans"

The Veterans Association of Cam Khe district currently has 10,387 members operating in 200 branches belonging to 26 grassroots organizations. Over the years, promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, cadres and members have always trained themselves to be steadfast in political will, united, and exemplary in implementing patriotic emulation movements associated with "Building the Association strong in politics and ideology".

Cam Khe District Veterans Association gives money to support families of veterans in difficult circumstances.

In the period of 2019-2024, the District Association of War Veterans has coordinated with the District Social Policy Bank to help 2,400 members get preferential loans to develop production, with outstanding loans to date of 146 billion VND. Effectively implementing emulation movements, many members have become owners of enterprises, production and processing establishments, cooperatives, farms, family farms, business and service agencies, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers, including many members and children of war veterans with stable incomes, averaging 7-9 million VND/person/month. Many households have been recognized as good producers and traders at all levels, including 287 households at the commune level, 54 households at the district level, 8 households at the provincial level, and 3 households at the central level. Up to now, the rate of well-off and rich members has reached nearly 70%; the number of poor members has decreased to 2.3% (down nearly 4% compared to the previous period).

Not only competing in economic development, the War Veterans Association is always an exemplary force leading in all activities, especially the Movement "Joining hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". In 5 years, the officers and members of the War Veterans Association of the district have donated more than 3,764m2 of land of all kinds, contributed 22,000 working days, and more than 5 billion VND to build rural roads, build social welfare works, and cultural houses in residential areas with the model of "green - clean - beautiful environment".

The War Veterans Association at all levels in the district always does a good job in the military rear, contributing with the Party Committee and the government to take care of the material and spiritual life of families with preferential policies, war invalids, martyrs' relatives and poor households, seeking support from organizations, individuals and philanthropists. The Association at all levels mobilized resources to support and support the elimination of 61 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor War Veterans in difficult circumstances with a total amount of VND 8.4 billion. The District War Veterans Association has actively coordinated with all levels and sectors in the area to organize many activities such as: "Repaying gratitude", "Remembering the source of water", competitions to learn about the history and traditions of the Party, homeland and country, etc., attracting more than 6,000 union members and young people to participate.

With the achieved results, 26/26 grassroots associations in the Association are always classified as having completed their tasks well, of which 20% have completed their tasks excellently. The Cam Khe District Veterans Association was awarded the Flag of Excellent Unit in the emulation movement in 2020, Certificates of Merit in 2019, 2022, 2023 by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; more than 300 grassroots associations, branches, cadres and members were commended and rewarded by Party Committees, People's Committees and Association organizations at all levels.

Implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans" in the period of 2024-2029, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in Cam Khe district has set out 5 targets and 6 measures, focusing on strongly directing the emulation movement to successfully implementing 3 breakthroughs set forth by the Resolution of the 7th Congress of Delegates of the Association of War Veterans of the province (2022-2027). Building the Association strong in politics, ideology and organization; actively innovating content and methods, improving the quality and effectiveness of the Association's activities, especially at the grassroots level. Encouraging generations of war veterans to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, helping each other to develop the economy, improve their lives and sustainably reduce poverty, get rich legally, and strive to fulfill the target of helping each other reduce poverty.
