Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived in Hanoi this morning, January 23, successfully concluding their working trip to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos 2024 in Switzerland and officially visit Hungary and Romania.
According to Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, during 2 consecutive working days with a busy schedule of more than 30 activities, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to attend the 54th WEF Davos Conference was a great success in many aspects, achieving at a high level all the set goals, requirements and tasks, leaving a strong impression and strongly spreading the image of a Vietnam with a new foundation, potential, position and prestige.
The Prime Minister and his wife have arrived at Noi Bai airport, successfully concluding their first European tour of 2024.

Countries impressed by Vietnam's development achievements
The official visit to Hungary and Romania by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the first delegation exchange at the head of government level in the past 7 years with Hungary and 5 years with Romania in the context that Vietnam and the two countries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025. Both countries gave the Prime Minister, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation a warm, sincere and sincere welcome from close friends. During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had more than 30 meetings and exchanges with all senior leaders of the State, Government, National Assembly, political parties of the two countries, delivered policy speeches at universities, attended business forums, met with the friendship associations of the two countries with Vietnam, met with the Vietnamese community and visited a number of economic, scientific and technical establishments.
The Prime Minister's visit to Hungary further warms the traditionally good relations between the two countries.

"The leaders of Hungary and Romania expressed their strong impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, highly appreciated Vietnam's increasing international position, affirmed that Vietnam is a leading important partner in the Asia-Pacific region; wished to deepen the bilateral relationship, effectively and practically; coordinate to handle international issues and jointly respond to global challenges," Minister Bui Thanh Son announced. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the leaders of the two countries agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level, through all channels of the Party, State, Government and National Assembly to enhance political trust and mutual understanding, creating a foundation for expanding cooperation in all fields. Regarding economics, trade and investment, the leaders affirmed to create conditions for businesses of the two countries to strengthen cooperation, especially in the areas of strength of Hungary such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology and Romania such as urban infrastructure development, information and communication, food processing. The two sides agreed to further open each other's markets for agricultural products, food, seafood, etc.; consider the possibility of implementing investment cooperation projects and technology transfer in each country. The leaders of Hungary and Romania agreed to support the full and effective implementation of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), affirming that they will urge the remaining EU member countries to soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" warning for Vietnamese seafood products. Vietnam and the two countries also agreed to promote bilateral cooperation in traditional areas such as education and training, culture, sports, tourism, labor, etc. and cooperation in potential and strong areas such as science and technology, information and communication, pharmaceuticals, innovation, environment, etc.
Romanian Prime Minister Ion - Marcel Ciolacu called Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh "a good friend" and affirmed his readiness to be the main partner in bringing Vietnamese goods to the European market.

A highlight of the visit was education and training cooperation with the signing of nearly 30 cooperation documents between Vietnamese universities and training institutions in Hungary and Romania. Meeting with the Vietnamese community in Hungary and Romania, the Prime Minister welcomed the overseas Vietnamese community for their efforts to unite, help each other, integrate into the host society and always look towards their homeland and country. The Prime Minister directed the Vietnamese embassies in the two countries to continue to do a good job of protecting citizens, supporting the community in doing business, living and integrating. On this occasion, the Prime Minister asked Hungary to recognize the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority. Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed: "The Prime Minister's official visit to Hungary and Romania was successful in all aspects, marking an important milestone in the Vietnam - Hungary Comprehensive Partnership and the Vietnam - Romania Traditional Friendship Partnership, increasing political trust, comprehensively promoting bilateral cooperation in the new development stage, going deeper and more practical, serving our security and development interests and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world."
