On the evening of November 13, Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall - Winter 2024 officially opened at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, Ba Dinh, Hanoi. Designer Do Manh Cuong took on the role of presenting the opening collection of this year's event.
Talking to Dan Tri reporter about his first time participating in this event, designer Do Manh Cuong said: "At the time of receiving the invitation from the organizer, we were also very busy preparing for the show in Shanghai, China.
However, through the process of working with the organizer, we found many interesting things. I think that experience is necessary in work and life. With the consensus of the crew and colleagues, as well as realizing that I could do the show, I decided to accept the invitation to participate."
Opening the show, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc walked the catwalk with model Le Xuan Tien. Halfway down the runway, the two suddenly performed a few dances to the song APT. - a recent super hit by Rosé (Blackpink) in collaboration with Bruno Mars. The three children and mother of designer Do Manh Cuong also attracted attention when appearing on the catwalk this time.

Pioneering spirit
This collection by designer Do Manh Cuong reflects the spirit of "New Gen", through youthful, pioneering, and dynamic clothing designs. Meanwhile, the luxury and class that made the brand's name is still maintained.
The main colors of the collection are blue, white, gray and black. The designer takes advantage of the strengths of cutting and sewing techniques, creating 3D flower shapes, pleating, pleating... to create many unique and visually impressive outfits.
The first part of the collection focuses on youthful designs. The second part is a space of minimalist clothing models.
Moving on to the third section, the elaborate, oversized dresses in a maximalist, "Avant-garde" style (outfits that express the avant-garde, even absurd nature of fashion) made a strong impression.
"We focus on the spirit of innovation, pioneering, and self-renewal through these designs. Some of these designs are made from hundreds of meters of fabric, taking many hours to complete by hand," said the designer.
Over 100 designs featured
According to designer Do Manh Cuong, his collection featured a total of 100 different designs, worn by nearly 100 models. This is the show with the largest number of designs and models ever at a fashion event in Vietnam.
"This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, so we wanted to make it special," the designer said.

Towards diverse beauty
Another special feature of the show is the presence of plus-size models and models of many ages. They have many different body shapes, selected from thousands of candidates attending model castings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Designer Do Manh Cuong shared that these special models may not walk professionally and skillfully, but they have diverse, different and confident beauty, and at the same time contribute to spreading positive energy.
"Fashion only has real meaning when it enters real life, helping people become more beautiful and confident, not just for the catwalk or stores," he said.
Don't lose your "personality"
The collection from designer Do Manh Cuong once again affirms his unique identity that cannot be confused. His skillful tailoring techniques, elaborate shaping, and 3D floral patterns… make his name spread throughout the collection.
The designer emphasized: "The most important thing to survive in the field of fashion and art, creativity in general, is identity (uniqueness). That means the values we create, others are very difficult or impossible to find elsewhere. Over the years, we have always focused on this.
Once you have your own identity or "uniqueness", no matter where you appear, you will not blend in. If you stand alone, that mark will be even more highlighted. When you are in a group, that "uniqueness" will shine on its own.
