According to the Ben Tre Farmers' Association, the billionaire farmers' club was formed from the movement of farmers competing in production and business to unite and help each other get rich and reduce poverty. With the consensus of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Farmers' Association's Standing Committee actively promoted and mobilized farmers with good production and business with income of 1 billion VND or more to join the club. After many discussions, most members agreed on the name "billionaire farmers' club".
Accordingly, the Ben Tre province billionaire farmer club was established and launched on July 18, 2018 with 20 members. Up to now, 10 clubs have been established with 425 members throughout the districts and cities.
The club leadership consists of 1 chairman, 2 vice chairmen, 1 treasurer and 5 group leaders in charge of the following products: fruit trees; coconut; sea shrimp; livestock, poultry; seedlings; ornamental flowers. The club meets twice a month, in a rotating format, with each member hosting one meeting.
Each time the club meets regularly, there is the participation of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, scientists, businesses, and club members.
The club's activities are always prepared in a rich and diverse manner to meet the needs of the members. Each activity chooses a specific topic for each product to discuss, share, and link to find solutions for mutual development.

Over the time of establishment and operation, it has shown that this is an effective model, meeting the needs of members and farmers. Members always promote the spirit of competition in production and good business, from which, many models with profits of over 1 billion appear more and more.
Specifically, with the high-tech shrimp farming model, 15 members currently have a profit of over 15 billion/year. There are many households with a profit of over 30 billion/year, especially the model of Mr. Le Van Sam with a profit of 50 billion/year.
Recently, 20 club members visited and studied effective agricultural economic models in Thailand.
Through the tour, members learned and applied to build models such as: growing grapefruit according to VietGAP standards for export to the United States, high-quality cow breeding farms, intercropping in coconut gardens, clean rambutan, growing ornamental flowers in greenhouses, and a model of growing clean durian for export.
In the past 5 years, Ben Tre province has had 16 members honored as outstanding Ben Tre farmers, 8 members honored as outstanding Vietnamese farmers nationwide by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
According to the leader of the Ben Tre Farmers' Association, members of the billionaire farmers' club also participate in local cooperatives and cooperative groups, have participated in the establishment of 17 cooperatives and 63 cooperative groups, with 37 members participating in the Board of Directors, Board of Directors, and Board of Supervisors of the cooperatives.
The Billionaire Farmers Club is very active in social security work. During its activities, the clubs organize to give gifts, money, charity houses, seedlings, and lend interest-free production capital to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged farmers with an amount of over 3 billion VND. In addition, members also actively participate in new rural construction movements, contributing funds, land, crops, and labor days to build bridges, roads, and rural traffic with an amount of over 5 billion VND.
After listening to local reports, comrade Luong Quoc Doan commented that the Ben Tre province billionaire farmers club is a good model, especially since the provincial leaders take the time to participate every time the club meets.
According to Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association Luong Quoc Doan, in the coming time, the Ben Tre province billionaire farmers’ club needs to continue to expand and form businesses from here. Thereby, creating great consensus, supporting the locality to develop socio-economy, achieving and exceeding many set targets.
