Accordingly, BIDV adjusted down 0.1%/year for counter deposit interest rates for terms under 6 months.

Currently, the interest rate at the counter for 1-2 month term is only 1.6%/year, 3-5 month term is 1.9%/year. Meanwhile, 6-9 month term is still 3%/year, 12-18 month term is 4.7%/year, and 24-36 month term has the highest interest rate of 4.8%/year.

BIDV keeps online deposit interest rates unchanged at 2%/year for 1-2 month term deposits; 2.3%/year for 3-5 month term deposits; 3.3%/year for 6-9 month term deposits; 4.7%/year for 12-18 month term deposits; and 4.9%/year for 24-36 month term deposits.

BIDV is the 18th domestic commercial bank to reduce deposit interest rates since the meeting between the State Bank of Vietnam and commercial banks on February 25.

18 banks have reduced interest rates including: BVBank, MSB, VietBank, Saigonbank, VIB, BaoVietBank, Kienlongbank, Bac A Bank, Viet A Bank, PGBank, Eximbank, LPBank, Nam A Bank, SHB, NCB, VCBNeo, BIDV and Techcombank, with a reduction of 0.1-0.9%/year depending on the term.

The reduction of deposit interest rates by major banks such as BIDV and Techcombank has great significance in pulling up the deposit interest rate level of the market, thereby contributing to reducing the lending interest rate level among banks.

Previously, on March 10, Techcombank adjusted the mobilization interest rate down by 0.1-0.2%/year. Specifically, the interest rate decreased by 0.15%/year for a term of 1-36 months for regular and Insprite customers; decreased by 0.2%/year for a term of 1-5 months for Priority and Private customers, and decreased by 0.15%/year for a term of 6-36 months for Priority and Private customers.

For online deposit products (applicable to all customers), counter savings, online savings, flexible principal withdrawal deposits of regular customers and Private customers with deposits of 3 billion or more: 0.1%/year interest rate reduction for terms from 1-36 months;

Savings products for cash advances at the counter, cash advances online, flexible principal withdrawal deposits of Inspirit, Priority customers and Private customers with deposits under 3 billion: 0.15%/year discount for terms from 1-36 months.
