Specifically the case of BaoViet Bank and PVCombank.
Currently, BaoViet Bank leads the market in interest rates for 1-month (3.5%/year), 3-month (3.85%/year), 6-month (4.8%/year), 9-month (4.9%/year), and 12-month (5.3%/year) terms.
PVCombank leads with BaoViet Bank in 6-month term interest rates and ranks second in the remaining terms.
Previously, both banks were in the middle of the rankings for general deposit interest rates at the beginning of February.
However, in February, the market recorded 23 banks reducing deposit interest rates (in January there were 32 banks), but the two banks mentioned above did not have similar moves.
Along with BaoViet Bank and PVCombank, there are a number of banks that did not change their interest rates in February, including the four state-owned giants Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank. Besides, there are commercial banks such as OCB, OceanBank, TPBank, MSB, Saigonbank, SCB.
Banks that adjusted interest rates twice last month include Sacombank, Viet A Bank, Techcombank, Bac A Bank, SeABank, KienLong Bank, CBBank.
VIB, NCB and Eximbank reduced deposit interest rates three times in February.
According to VietNamNet statistics, Bac A Bank is the bank that has reduced interest rates the most in February 2024 for 3-month deposit terms, with 0.8%/year.
CBBank, VPBank, SeABank and NCB are also banks that have strongly reduced interest rates for this term deposit, the reduction is 0.5%/year in February 2024.
For 6-month term deposit interest rates, Sacombank decreased the most (0.8%/year), followed by Bac A Bank (0.7%/year) and CBBank (0.6%/year).
Sacombank and CBBank also led the way in reducing 9-month deposit interest rates, up to 0.75%/year, while at Bac A Bank it was 0.7%/year.
For the 12-month term, the mobilization interest rate at CBBank still decreased the most, up to 0.75%/year, Bac A Bank was behind at 0.6%/year, followed by VPBank and SeABank both decreasing by 0.5%/year.
