Celebrating the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and awarding the Tran Mai Ninh Press Award in 2023

The Vietnamese revolutionary press was born with the historical milestone of Thanh Nien newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, with its first issue published on June 21, 1925, leaving an indelible mark in the history of the Vietnamese nation. For more than 99 years accompanying the nation, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has contributed to great achievements in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

On the morning of June 19, at Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024) and award the Tran Mai Ninh Journalism Award 2023.

Over nearly 10 decades, under the leadership of the Party, the efforts of the press nationwide, and the support of readers, Vietnam's revolutionary press has grown steadily and strongly.

Along with the national press, the press and journalists in Thanh Hoa province have developed rapidly. Publications and channels of press agencies in the province have been gradually improved, published more widely, with more positive effects, basically meeting the leadership and direction requirements of the Party Committee and government, as well as the information needs of the public, contributing to the development of the province.

By constantly innovating and creating in the way of doing things, increasing the number of publications, increasing the broadcasting time, publishing more publications, and adding more attractive columns, press agencies have done a good job of praising good people, good deeds, and advanced models; summarizing and drawing lessons from important economic and social models and programs; actively contributing to the work of building the Party and the political system, strengthening national defense and security, and fighting against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.

In addition to local press agencies, reporters and journalists of central press agencies with representative offices and permanent offices in Thanh Hoa have proactively grasped the situation, closely followed the grassroots, developed propaganda plans, promptly reflected important political events and socio -economic activities taking place in the province; actively participated in reflecting and fighting against corruption, negativity, waste, discovered many prominent and urgent cases, helping authorities grasp and handle them promptly, contributing to stabilizing public opinion...

The 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is an opportunity for Thanh Hoa journalists to review the glorious tradition of Vietnam revolutionary press, adding to their pride, confidence and responsibility to compete together to better fulfill the tasks of the press in response to new requirements.

At the Ceremony, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association organized the Tran Mai Ninh Journalism Award 2023 for authors and typical journalistic works about Thanh Hoa that were published in press publications and broadcast on radio and television of central and local press agencies in 2023.

Accordingly, the Tran Mai Ninh Journalism Award 2023 has 120 entries in 4 types of journalism: print, electronic, visual and radio. Based on the review and evaluation of the criteria, especially the political, professional and social impact factors of the entries, the Evaluation Council decided to select 46 best entries to submit to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for commendation, including 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 17 consolation prizes.

According to the evaluation of the Evaluation Council, the works submitted to the Tran Mai Ninh Award this year are of better quality than last year, more consistent in quality. Most of the works are close to reality, relevant to current events, in the fields of politics, socio-economics, national defense - security, Party building... Many works are invested seriously, elaborately, have a tight structure, the way of expression is close, vivid, attractive to readers; the content has the nature of discovering new issues, criticizing major policies and guidelines of the Party and State; proposing many creative solutions, good ways of doing things that have the power to spread and influence in society.
