Celebrating the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and awarding the 16th Ninh Thuan Provincial Press Award in 2022

On June 21, the Provincial Journalists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023) and award the 16th Ninh Thuan Provincial Press Award in 2022.

Attending the event were comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Van Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Minh Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Lam Dong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Chau Thi Thanh Ha, Secretary of the Phan Rang-Thap Cham City Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches, districts and cities.

At the ceremony, the Standing Committee of the Journalists Association reviewed the glorious history of 98 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press; emphasizing that, in the past time, press agencies and the team of reporters and journalists residing and registered to work in the province have closely followed the developments of the situation, the direction and orientation of the governing agencies and functional agencies, providing information and propaganda fully, clearly and promptly, ensuring the correct orientation of political and economic events and areas of social life in the province.

Notably, the press has fully, boldly and promptly conveyed the directive messages as well as the activities of Party committees and authorities at all levels; reflected, introduced and promoted the potential, strengths and achievements of the province in the fields of socio -economics, national defense - security, Party building, political system building; actively and proactively accompanied Party committees, authorities and people in the work of preventing and combating natural disasters, epidemics and ensuring social security.

Thereby, the press has affirmed its role as an important information channel, an effective means and tool to help Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province in their leadership, direction and administration; at the same time, as a trusted forum for the people, the press has closely followed reality, grasped and promptly reflected the thoughts, feelings and aspirations of all classes of people, discovered and praised new factors, encouraged patriotic emulation movements, actively fought against negative manifestations and behaviors, and violations of the law... It can be said that the press has truly been an important bridge, contributing to creating high unity in the thoughts and actions of the Party Committee and people in the province.

The 16th Ninh Thuan Provincial Press Awards attracted the active participation of affiliated press associations, members, and reporters who submitted entries. Among thousands of press works broadcast on radio, television, and published in printed newspapers, the Provincial Press Awards Council received 60 entries to the final round. The entries reflected a wide range of fields in politics, economics, society, national defense, security, Party building, and the province's political system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised the efforts and results of the Journalists Association, press agencies, members and the team of journalists in the province in the work of information and propaganda. He affirmed that, thanks to their responsibility and passion for the profession, journalists and reporters have produced many journalistic works that bring the breath of life and are well received by the people; many journalists and reporters have won many high awards in competitions, national press festivals and the Provincial Press Awards.

Emphasizing that 2023 is an important year, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested press agencies and journalists in the province to promote their pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, continue to accompany and contribute to the locality in implementing socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security, Party building, and building the political system.

In particular, pay attention to propagating the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws into life; fully and comprehensively reflect the leadership, direction and operation activities of Party committees and authorities at all levels; promptly inform and reflect issues of public concern so that all levels and sectors can consider, resolve and adjust policies and guidelines accordingly; actively introduce and propagate good and creative practices, good people and good deeds; promote the role as a bridge in introducing and promoting the image of the land, people, potentials, strengths and investment attraction policies of Ninh Thuan province to friends and businesses at home and abroad.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Journalists Association and press agencies to continue promoting the tradition of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, focusing on education to raise political awareness for members and journalists of the province; proactively concretize the Party's Resolutions in propaganda work; effectively implement Directive No. 43 of the Central Party Secretariat "on strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation"; the 2016 Press Law in conjunction with the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh.

On this occasion, the Provincial Press Awards Council selected 14 outstanding works to award prizes. Of which, there were 3 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 4 C prizes and 3 consolation prizes. In the Print Newspaper category, Ninh Thuan Newspaper won A, B and C prizes. Specifically: The work series of 3 articles: Phan Rang-Thap Cham City makes a breakthrough in site clearance work" by Journalist Le Thi Thu won A prize; the work series of 2 articles: "Digital transformation contributes to sustainable socio-economic development" by Journalist Ngu Anh Tuan won B prize and the work series of 3 articles: "Studying and following Uncle Ho in the spirit of thrift" by Journalist Pham Thi Lam, Ninh Thuan Newspaper Association won C prize.

After the award ceremony, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association launched the emulation movement in 2023 and the 17th Ninh Thuan Provincial Press Award in 2023.
