Overseas Vietnamese in Ha Tinh make important contributions to the development of their homeland.

Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung affirmed that the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh always respectfully thank and appreciate the sentiments and contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the development of their homeland and country.

On the evening of February 5, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized the program "Spring of Ha Tinh homeland 2024" to meet and connect overseas Vietnamese.

Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung, Provincial People's Committee Chairman Vo Trong Hai and other members of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee attended.

The program was attended by representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Ha Tinh, foreign enterprises and representatives of projects of overseas Vietnamese businessmen investing in Ha Tinh.

Currently, Ha Tinh has about 85,000 people studying, living and working abroad. There are 12 projects of Ha Tinh businessmen/enterprises abroad returning to their homeland to invest with a total capital of more than 3,335 billion VND. The projects have created jobs for hundreds of local workers, contributing to the restructuring and socio-economic development of the province.

Many overseas Vietnamese have also had programs and activities to support their homeland Ha Tinh such as: Nghe Tinh Association in the Russian Federation donated nearly 6 billion VND to build a fountain at the Dong Loc T-junction relic site, more than 3 billion VND to build the Ha Tinh Temple of Literature, 5,000 USD to translate "Truyen Kieu" into Russian... In addition, Ha Tinh province welcomes social and charitable activities of overseas Vietnamese around the world, supporting compatriots in the Central provinces in general and Ha Tinh in particular who have been affected by natural disasters and floods in recent years.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung sent New Year greetings to delegates, distinguished guests, and all overseas Vietnamese present at the program as well as overseas Vietnamese from Ha Tinh living and working abroad.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary briefed the overseas Vietnamese on the results of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the province. He also affirmed that, in addition to the solidarity, high unity, efforts, joint efforts, and consensus of the entire political system and the whole society, timely direction and support from the Central Government, and cooperation, sharing, and resource support from businesses, organizations, and individuals, these results were achieved thanks to the valuable and very important contributions of the Ha Tinh community living, working, and studying abroad. The Party Committee, government, and people of the province always sincerely thank and appreciate the sentiments and contributions of overseas Vietnamese to their homeland and country in the past time.

The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that overseas Vietnamese in Ha Tinh will continue to unite, help each other, preserve the national cultural identity, make positive contributions to their homeland, and act as a bridge for Ha Tinh province to expand international integration and cooperation, and attract investment. Pay attention to connecting, supporting, and accompanying the province in building a scholarship fund to nurture talents for the homeland and the country; pay attention to, connect with consumption and increase the value of agricultural products as well as other goods of Ha Tinh in foreign markets.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chu - Vice President of the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs, President of the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Enterprises in Hungary spoke at the program.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang - Chairman of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association in Russia discussed some contents at the program.

At the meeting, overseas Vietnamese from Ha Tinh expressed their pride in the changes of their homeland. With their affection and responsibility, the overseas Vietnamese hope to continue receiving the province's attention, support and favorable conditions in attracting investment in order to contribute more to the development of their home province.
