Discussing the topic of green investment within the framework of the conference, Dr. Vo Tri Thanh - Deputy Director of the Institute for Economic Management Research CIEM - said that Vietnam's economy is facing many challenges but there are still opportunities for development. According to Mr. Thanh, many of Vietnam's trading partners such as the US, China... are forecasted to continue to have low growth and current geopolitical competition and conflicts are causing the world to "fragment" not only the economy, finance but also the payment system, technology... Vietnam is under pressure from inflation, exchange rates and shocks in the stock and real estate markets, and handling violations is a challenge. "There are challenges but we also have bright spots in public investment with a changing infrastructure system, FDI attraction growth and people's consumption still increasing quite well" - Mr. Thanh stated. According to Mr. Thanh, Vietnam has many strategies for green economic development, digital transformation, and semiconductor technology. In particular, the green strategy and circular economy in Hai Phong currently have two leading industrial parks, Nam Cau Kien and DEEP C, attracting investment very effectively. Further clarifying about green investment, Mr. Bui Ngoc Hai - Deputy Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board - said that the city is actively converting from a general industrial park to an ecological industrial park and determined that this is no longer an option, but an inevitable thing, deciding the competitiveness in the coming time. According to Mr. Hai, the city is ready to welcome investment cooperation from the overseas Vietnamese community in the field of green investment and support procedures through the one-stop mechanism at the city's Economic Zone Management Board.
