On August 9, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of this province has just issued a document requesting the Ministry of Transport to consider and direct early investment in drainage systems along national highways (QL) passing through the province.
According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the drainage system along the national highway sections passing through urban areas and densely populated areas has been gradually invested in, but currently some sections are not continuous and do not ensure synchronous connection.
Ca Mau proposed that the Ministry of Transport consider and direct early investment in drainage systems along national highways passing through the province (in the photo, Phan Ngoc Hien Street is flooded every time there is heavy rain).
In particular, some sections have drainage systems, but after many years of exploitation and use, they are no longer suitable for the actual situation and do not ensure drainage capacity, typically National Highway 63, section Km113+150 (Phan Ngoc Hien bridge) - Km114+629 (intersection with National Highway 1) in the inner city of Ca Mau.
Many national highways passing through the province are currently frequently flooded, especially during heavy rains, affecting the safety of people and vehicles, causing environmental pollution and the risk of reducing the life of the works, affecting the lives and production and business activities of the people.
To overcome the above situation, ensure synchronization and promote the efficiency of exploiting national highways, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province proposed that the Ministry of Transport consider and direct early investment in drainage systems along national highways through Ca Mau province, including some sections on National Highway 1 in Ca Mau city, Cai Nuoc district, Nam Can district; National Highway 63 in Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau city; the southern coastal corridor road (Thoi Binh district); Ho Chi Minh road in Nam Can district, Ngoc Hien district.
Regarding the water system of sections of National Highway 1 and Ho Chi Minh Road, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province also proposed that the Ministry of Transport direct the review and implementation in accordance with the progress and scope of investment in projects to upgrade and expand National Highway 1 and Ho Chi Minh Road from Ca Mau City to Ca Mau Cape.
