The delegation disseminated legal regulations on combating IUU fishing to vessels at Lach Bang fishing port.

The inspection showed that after more than two weeks of implementing the peak period of rectifying against IUU fishing, strengthening fleet management and monitoring, inspecting and controlling fishing vessel activities, currently in localities, 100% of "3 no" fishing vessels have been managed; units have basically completed the registration of fishing vessels under 12 m managed by the district level. Fishing vessels that still lack procedures and documents are supported, guided and supplemented by relevant levels, sectors and units according to regulations. At designated fishing ports, there are officers on duty to monitor ships entering and leaving ports, reminding fishermen to operate in the right areas... Propaganda on combating IUU fishing is carried out synchronously, directly on ships and at people's homes. The delegation supervised the recording and control of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port at Lach Hoi Fishing Port.

Localities urgently review and complete 100% of the registration and issuance of fishing licenses for fishing vessels with a maximum length of 6 m to less than 12 m as prescribed. At the same time, organize the monitoring of 100% of the unloading of aquatic products at fishing ports managed by the district level, private/traditional fishing wharves, and natural anchorage areas; coordinate with functional forces to strictly control fishing vessels entering and leaving estuaries and coastal areas; and grasp the developments of fishing vessels in the locality to each household.

Relevant departments, branches, units and localities need to take synchronous and drastic actions to promptly overcome existing problems and join the whole country in removing the "yellow card" for fisheries.
