Through actual records, the installed high-speed free wifi brings many conveniences to many tourists in: livestreaming, online calling, paying for services... Public wifi hotspots are all powered by electricity from solar panels shared with lighting at Hai Van Quan relic site.
Mr. Le Quoc Tuan, a tourist from Hanoi, was surprised when Hai Van Quan was one of the few tourist destinations he had experienced that had free wifi service.
According to Mr. Tuan, the wifi signal and 5G network here are very stable and somewhat faster than the places he has been to, thereby helping him communicate and connect with relatives and colleagues when traveling. He believes that this is a factor that helps Hai Van Quan score points in the eyes of tourists.
Ms. Le Thi Hoa (Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province) said: “This is a very good model and product that many tourist destinations do not have. Equipping public wifi will be an effective communication method for local tourism products, thereby promoting the economy and services”.
Free public wifi has the login name "@VNPT Wifi Free". |
Mr. Nguyen Trung Hai, Director of VNPT Da Nang, said that VNPT is currently the first unit to provide 5G mobile and broadband internet at the top of Hai Van Pass to serve customers and tourists.
Expanding Vinaphone mobile coverage (belonging to VNPT) and deploying super high-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure at famous historical, cultural and tourist sites will help promote the image of the tourist city to countries around the world.
Wifi transmitters are connected to a power source from a solar panel shared with the light bulb. |
For the city, the addition of information infrastructure and telecommunications connections is generally oriented to synchronize with economic and social development. Therefore, on August 27, 2024, the Department of Information and Communications issued Document No. 2035/STTTT-ĐTHTS requesting the Department of Culture and Sports and the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District to support VNPT Da Nang in implementing solutions to add infrastructure and telecommunications services to the Hai Van Quan relic area.
In particular, the locality will support VNPT in deploying transmission infrastructure to provide fixed internet and wifi internet services at Hai Van Quan relic site, specifically: establishing a 2km long 24FO optical cable line running along the trail from the existing station of VNPT Da Nang on Hai Van peak to Hai Van Quan relic site; installing 3 dedicated outdoor wifi hotspots at the foot of the lampposts of the citadel wall.
On this occasion, VNPT installed 3 dedicated outdoor wifi hotspots at the foot of the lampposts and wall. |
