That was the statement of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong, Head of the City's Steering Committee 389 at the national online conference to review the work of the first quarter of 2025 and the direction and tasks for the coming time of the National Steering Committee 389 chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the Steering Committee on the afternoon of April 21.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that, closely following the direction of the National Steering Committee 389 and local practices, the leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee always pay attention to directing departments and branches to synchronously implement the work of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

In particular, Da Nang is a locality that attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists , so inspection and control are carried out drastically to build and maintain a healthy business and consumption environment, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of people and consumers.

Da Nang discovered and handled a number of cases related to business, transportation of smuggled foreign goods and goods of unknown origin, and commercial fraud.

“With the local reality, Da Nang continues to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the National Steering Committee 389 on the prevention and combat of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods to maintain the environment, image, and destination of Da Nang in the eyes of tourists,” Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong emphasized.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the National Steering Committee 389, said that in recent times, the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods has received attention, leadership, direction and implementation from the Party, State, Government, Prime Minister and localities, and has achieved very positive results.

The Deputy Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated the results in the work of detecting and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods of functional forces from the central to local levels, especially the forces directly performing the tasks.

In the coming time, it is recommended that ministries, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389 on the prevention and combat of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; review and improve the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities.
