On January 9, Dong Nai General Hospital announced that it had successfully performed surgery to remove a 2.5 kg tumor from the chest of a male patient.
Surgeons remove the tumor
Previously, male patient PVN (45 years old, living in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) was hospitalized with difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing and severe chest pain. The patient said that 1 year ago he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a mediastinal tumor but did not receive treatment.
Through examination and paraclinical tests, doctors diagnosed that the tumor was compressing structures in the mediastinum such as the esophagus, trachea, etc., so they indicated surgical removal.
A 2.5 kg tumor was removed from the patient's chest by doctors.
Doctor Vo Tuan Anh, Head of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Dong Nai General Hospital, who directly performed the surgery, said that after 3 hours of surgery, the team successfully removed a 2.5 kg tumor. During the surgery, the patient lost about 300 ml of blood.
After surgery, the patient's health improved, no more chest pain and difficulty breathing. The patient was discharged after 8 days of treatment.
