The Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Mr. Nguyen Van Yen to investigate the crime of appropriating secret state documents.
Based on the investigation results, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency initiated a criminal case of "Appropriation of State secret documents" occurring in Hanoi city and other provinces and cities, and issued a Decision to prosecute the accused, an Order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, and a Search Order for the residence of Mr. Nguyen Van Yen (former Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, born in 1966; residence: Phu Thuong ward, Tay Ho district, Hanoi city) to investigate the crime of "Appropriation of State secret documents" prescribed in Article 337 of the Penal Code.

After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency served the Decision to prosecute the accused, executed the Order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, and searched the residence of the accused Nguyen Van Yen.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
Previously, on June 19, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a meeting to review and discipline party organizations and party members who had committed violations and shortcomings. After considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Commission, the Politburo and the Secretariat found that Mr. Nguyen Van Yen, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, had lacked self-cultivation and training, had degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, violated Party regulations and laws on protecting state secrets, declaring assets, income, marriage and family; violated the Regulations on what party members must not do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and negatively affecting the reputation of the party organization, agency, and work unit.
The Secretariat decided to take disciplinary action by removing Mr. Nguyen Van Yen from all positions in the Party.
