In recent days, in the province, practical activities in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (NS&VHĐ) in 2025 have taken place enthusiastically, attracting the participation of all classes of people, especially students. Thereby contributing to arousing the passion for reading and developing reading culture in the community.

Bao Ngoc, Song Da Primary School (Hoa Binh City) was excited to join her classmates in actively donating to raise piggy banks to buy books and stories for the classroom bookshelf. Bao Ngoc shared: I am very happy to contribute a small part to buy books to add to the classroom bookshelf so that my classmates can read and learn more useful knowledge through good books and stories.
Not only Song Da Primary School, but also all schools in the province have activities to respond to the fourth Vietnam National Reading Day. Schools organize various forms of reading promotion such as: Propagating the meaning of Vietnam National Reading Day, introducing books, telling stories based on books, book review competitions, drawing, cosplaying literary characters, book games, photo contests of favorite reading corners, etc.; focusing on implementing library lessons and building reading habits for students, especially at the primary level. The Department of Education and Training encourages units to build models of classroom bookshelves, family bookshelves, clan bookshelves, and at the same time launch book donation programs to support students in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas. The circulation of books, newspapers, library resources and the organization of reading clubs are also promoted.
With the message "Reading culture - connecting the community", "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", the fourth Vietnam Reading and Writing Festival took place from April 15 to May 2 nationwide.
Comrade Nguyen Manh Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Library, said: Reading culture has a very important position and role in life, because books are the place to preserve all the knowledge of humanity in the history of human development, inventions and creations. Reading brings knowledge and awareness to people, orienting the future of life and society; promoting economic and scientific development. Paying attention to developing reading culture is a necessary and regular task that the Provincial Library has implemented in recent years. Responding to the Vietnam National Day of Culture and Sports this year, the Provincial Library advised the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT&DL) to coordinate in organizing exhibitions and displays of books and publications at Tan Thanh Primary and Secondary School, Luong Son District, Lap Chieng Primary and Secondary School, Kim Boi District.
On March 28, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent an official dispatch to departments, branches, districts, cities and book publishing enterprises of the province on launching the movement to respond to the Vietnamese National Day of Literature and Arts in 2025 with practical contents. In particular, organizing propaganda activities about the meaning of this day to encourage the spirit of self-study, raising awareness of the role of books in personal and social development. Promoting the reading movement in schools, agencies, businesses and communities through activities to introduce good books, tell stories based on books, talk about books, organize book reading festivals...
Continue to build and develop the reading movement, promote reading culture among the people, towards building a learning society, paying special attention to students, inspiring them to strive to become useful citizens. Enhance the responsibility of all levels, sectors and organizations in composing, promoting and preserving books in the province; call for the participation and contribution of the community to turn NS&VHĐ Việt Nam into a meaningful annual activity, attracting the attention and positive response of society. At the same time, encourage the construction and development of bookcases and libraries in schools, agencies and localities; mobilize book donations to support disadvantaged areas in accessing knowledge.
In particular, apply technology to develop reading culture by exploiting e-book platforms, online reading applications, improving reading comprehension skills and accessing information from reliable sources. Encourage the development of new forms of reading such as: e-books, audiobooks, interactive books, artificial intelligence and virtual reality applications... Organize online reading clubs, create forums to discuss works through platforms: Zoom, Skype, Google Meet...
