On the morning of December 1, in Thong Nhat commune, Ha Long city, a solemn groundbreaking ceremony was held for the project to renovate, embellish and restore Lang Bang Communal House.

On October 14, 2020, Lang Bang Communal House was recognized as a historical relic, included in the list of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots of Quang Ninh province.

Lang Bang Communal House relic is located near Bang ferry, connecting the inland waterway of Hoanh Bo with the ancient Hon Gai. In 1997-1998, a survey here showed that there were many layers of tiles and bricks from the Tran and Le dynasties; along with 24 stone foundations. In 2018, Quang Ninh Museum coordinated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to excavate Lang Bang Communal House relic. As a result, Lang Bang Communal House has various types of relics from the Tran dynasty in the 13th-14th century, the Le Trung Hung dynasty in the 17th-18th century and the Nguyen dynasty in the late 19th - early 20th century, of which Tran dynasty relics have the largest quantity and density, and the widest distribution area.

Based on the distribution of relics from the Tran Dynasty here, it can be initially determined that Lang Bang Communal House is a large-scale architectural complex built on a low hill adjacent to Cua Luc Bay with a scale of about 800 - 1,000m each way. Thereby demonstrating the position and role of today's Thong Nhat land in particular, Ha Long City in general in history as an important gateway of Dai Viet.

On October 14, 2020, Lang Bang Communal House was recognized as a historical relic, included in the list of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots of Quang Ninh province according to Decision No. 3929/QD-UBND.

However, over time, the relic has been degraded and damaged due to the impact of weather, environment and lack of conservation funding.

Delegates performed the project groundbreaking ceremony.

Determining the importance of the historical significance and cultural value of Lang Bang Communal House and in order to realize Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on building and promoting cultural values, the strength of Quang Ninh people to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development; Ha Long City has directed departments and offices to study and develop a project planning plan for restoration, embellishment and rehabilitation with the goal of synchronizing infrastructure, regional landscape and especially to preserve and promote the value of the relic, meeting the religious needs of the people and tourists. At the same time, it aims to form and develop a new tourism product of the city.

According to the plan, the project area is 3,065 m2. The project will restore Dai Dinh (on the old communal house foundation) according to the architecture of a traditional Northern communal house and have other auxiliary items arranged in suitable locations in the overall relic site.

Up to now, the city has received over 3 billion VND from generous organizations and individuals to implement the project.

In particular, the project will use 100% of socialized funding sources with the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Commune as the investor. To prepare the conditions for implementation and resources of the project, from the beginning of 2024, Ha Long City established a Mobilization Committee to mobilize socialized resources. Up to this point, the amount of money that the Mobilization Committee has received is over 3 billion VND to implement the project.

Upon completion, the project will contribute to improving the spiritual and material life of local people, realizing the goal of building Ha Long city as "Model, modern, rich, beautiful, civilized, and affectionate", building Ha Long into a Heritage city, a city of flowers and festivals.
