Commencement of Nam La Lake Construction Investment Project

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province performed the groundbreaking ceremony.

The Nam La Lake Project under the Ban Phu - Nam La Lake Cluster Project has a total investment of VND 998 billion, of which the Nam La Lake Project is VND 509.385 billion. The construction site is in Muong Nhe commune, Muong Nhe district, including the following items: Level II headworks; irrigation water supply system and auxiliary works. The reservoir has a capacity of 2.43 million ^m3 , including: earthen dam, flood spillway with valve gate, water intake sluice, irrigation water supply system, construction road combined with management and management house. After completion and put into use, the project aims to supply and create irrigation water for about 1,800 hectares of agricultural land, creating a source of domestic water for about 25,000 people. The project is very important for the development of agricultural production, socio-economic development; limiting illegal migration, stabilizing political security, social order and safety in the province. Construction time of the lake is 30 months.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep acknowledged the efforts of the locality in site clearance. At the same time, he requested the functional units of the Ministry, investors, construction contractors, and supervision consultants to urgently and highly concentrate on human resources and equipment to implement, ensure technical requirements, construction safety and complete the project on time as committed. Resolutely fight against acts and manifestations of corruption, negativity, and waste.

The Deputy Minister requested the People's Committee of Dien Bien province to continue to facilitate, support and coordinate with the Ministry in the process of implementing the project. In particular, speed up the progress, complete and put the project into operation by the end of 2025, meeting the expectations of the government and people in the project area. After this project, the People's Committee of the province and Muong Nhe district will continue to pay attention to investing in building the Nam La Lake area into a park, tourism and resort area to serve the lives of people in the area.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Lo Van Tien emphasized that Dien Bien province is committed to closely coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct investors, relevant departments and branches, and Muong Nhe District People's Committee to create the most favorable conditions and quickly resolve procedures and problems arising during the project implementation process for tasks and tasks under the authority and responsibility of the locality.
