Thanh Binh Bridge project across Nam Rom River started construction on March 13, 2023. The project has a total investment of more than 100 billion VND; the scale is 93m long, 20m wide for vehicles and 10m wide for pedestrians, 2m median strip, prestressed super-T girder structure, 7cm thick asphalt concrete bridge deck, architectural arrangement on the bridge into 3 arches, each arch is 30m long. After 9 months of construction, the project was completed and put into use.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Thanh Binh Bridge, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Duc Toan said that Thanh Binh Bridge is a very important traffic project of Dien Bien Phu city; the project is located in the city center connecting Thanh Binh, Thanh Truong wards, Dien Bien Airport across the Nam Rom River, a traffic bottleneck that has needed to be resolved for many years. Dien Bien Phu city's initiative in rebuilding Thanh Binh Bridge is of great significance in meeting the traffic needs of the people of Dien Bien Phu city in particular and Dien Bien province in general, contributing to gradually completing the infrastructure of Dien Bien Phu city according to the criteria of a type II urban area, creating an urban landscape; at the same time, it is a key project of the city to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024)...
In order for the bridge to be exploited sustainably, safely and effectively, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu city to direct the Project Management Board of the works, construction units, consulting and supervision units and related units to urgently review, complete documents, procedures for acceptance of completed volume, payment and settlement, and implement the management, operation, and maintenance processes in a timely manner in accordance with regulations. Develop plans, manage operations, and guide traffic for people and tourists to ensure absolute safety and efficiency. Along with that, continue to accelerate the progress of implementing key projects in Dien Bien Phu city so that more meaningful projects can be completed soon, practically making achievements to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory , and soon bring the city to meet the criteria of a type II urban area according to the goals set out in the resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
In recognition of the efforts of agencies and units in implementing the Thanh Binh Bridge Construction Project, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 2 individuals.
After the ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate Thanh Binh Bridge, Dien Bien Phu city in the joy and happiness of many cadres, party members and people.
