Headquartered in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Mr. Bui Danh Tuyen, director of Tuyen Giang Trading Company Limited - a steel supplier in Ha Long (Quang Ninh), said that the surrounding area suffered heavy damage, with roofs blown off houses and many restaurants collapsing, so they had to be completely rebuilt.

Due to the demand increasing 3-4 times more than normal, the company is temporarily short of supplies.

However, with the type of corrugated iron that is still commonly used in houses and warehouses, Mr. Tuyen said the price is still only about 150,000 - 160,000 VND/m2. "Basically, the price has not increased, but we are overloaded and out of stock," Mr. Tuyen said.

Regarding the solution, Mr. Tuyen said the company is mobilizing many different sources to "rotate" enough goods to serve customers.

Mr. Minh, the owner of a steel and iron dealer on Quang Trung Street, Ha Dong (Hanoi), also said that steel is one of the construction materials very popular

In the context of roads, manpower is interrupted after Storm No. 3, it is difficult to avoid temporary shortage of goods but Vietnam cannot lack steel.

"From morning until now, we have been receiving orders continuously, several times more than usual. But the goods have not arrived in time to sell, many suppliers said they have them but have to wait because shipping takes longer than usual," Mr. Minh shared.

Mr. Minh also confirmed that by the afternoon of September 9, although demand had increased sharply, suppliers were still quoting stable prices.

According to Tuoi Tre's records on many streets in Ha Dong and some other areas on the outskirts of Hanoi, many structures were severely damaged after the storm and have not been repaired.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (Thanh Cao commune, Thanh Oai, Hanoi) said that her shop's corrugated iron roof was blown off after the storm, but the appointment for the worker was full, so she had to wait two more days for her turn.

Mr. Le Van Quyet, director of Tan Nhan Kiet Company Limited, said that not only houses or shops, but also warehouses and other seemingly solid structures were significantly damaged. Therefore, Mr. Quyet's workshop has been "full" of work until the end of this month.

However, Mr. Quyet affirmed that the price will still be quoted as usual because the basic materials are still stable.
