This is an activity to celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and towards the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union.
This is also a practical activity to implement Resolution No. 20/NQ-TW of the 12th Party Central Committee on strengthening the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new situation.
Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Phung Cong Suong - representative of the program's Organizing Committee said that Minh Chau is the only island commune of Hanoi; the roads are far and isolated. This is also a locality that has just recently overcome the shortage of clean water. People's lives, especially health care conditions of people in Minh Chau, are still very difficult and lacking.
Therefore, today's program demonstrates the high responsibility and great affection of young doctors and nurses towards the disadvantaged. This is also a great opportunity for the people of Minh Chau to be directly examined by highly qualified doctors and nurses from major hospitals in the Central and Hanoi.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of Ba Vi District People's Committee Do Manh Hung expressed his thanks and joy to welcome the working delegation who, despite the long distance, returned to Minh Chau island commune to carry out the program of visiting policy families and poor households in the locality.
Mr. Do Manh Hung said that Minh Chau is a poor commune, people mainly produce agriculture, raise livestock, and are affected by the environment, so health check-ups for people are very practical and meaningful activities.
At the program, doctors focused on examining lung and eye diseases and dispensing medicine to people in Minh Chau commune.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ty (80 years old), Minh Chau commune, excitedly shared: “I have been here since 6 o'clock. Here, the roads are very difficult to travel, the houses are sparsely populated so there are few conditions to go to the doctor. Since the commune announced that today there would be a team of doctors from the Central Government coming to the commune to examine and give out free medicine, everyone was happy and excited to wait their turn to be examined."
In order to encourage and provide more resources for families in difficult circumstances in Minh Chau commune, the program's Organizing Committee presented 5 gifts to the families. On this occasion, the delegation presented 5 gifts to 5 students in difficult circumstances in Minh Chau commune.
