Apple has just released the iOS 17 update with upgrades to system features as well as optimized user experience.
StandBy: Apple says StandBy on iOS 17 is a new full-screen mode that lets users quickly view information when the device is placed horizontally or plugged in. The interface of this new mode can display the clock, favorite photos, calendar, weather information, or music controls. |
Contact Posters: iOS 17 lets users create personalized images for each user when they call. Contact Posters can include photos, memoji, text, and custom background colors. |
NameDrop: A new feature on iOS 17 that helps users quickly share personal contact information by bringing two iPhones close together. Users can choose to provide phone number information, email address information, or both. |
Autocorrect: Apple says iOS 17 includes an advanced language model that can predict and improve autocorrect on the iPhone keyboard. Based on user habits, machine learning will correct errors with much higher accuracy. |
Offline Apple Maps on iOS 17: This is considered a quite important improvement that helps Apple Maps catch up with Google Maps. Accordingly, users can download maps of a certain area to use in case there is no Internet connection. |
Swipe to reply in iMessage on iOS 17: In the Messages app, users can now swipe right to directly reply to the content of any message, similar to Facebook Messenger or Telegram. |
Live Voicemail: This is a completely new voicemail feature on the iOS 17 update. This new feature allows users to convert calls into messages and is displayed directly on the screen. In case they cannot answer the phone, users can still grasp important information from that call. |
Interactive Widgets: A new feature on iOS 17 that allows users to directly interact with widgets right on the home screen, lock screen or StandBy view, without having to access the application. |
Stickers Drawer: With the new stickers drawer, iPhone users can access Live Stickers, emojis, Memojis, and other sticker packs in one place. Stickers will also sync with iCloud, so users can use them across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. |
Siri: To activate the virtual assistant on the iOS 17 update, users just need to say "Siri" instead of "Hey Siri" as before. At the same time, users can also make multiple requests in a row without having to repeat the activation command. |
